Dear Middle,

You turned SIX YEARS OLD on Friday, June 11, but we had your "celebration" (as you made sure all of us referred to it) the day before.
So sorry that 9 hours of your actual birthday were spent in the car on the way to Baltimore to see your first major league game!
You are a great silly face-maker, a singer, an artist, and a superstar baseball player.

You are our slowpoke.  Our family turtle.  While the rest of us seem to always rushrushrush naturally, you keep a MUCH SLOWER pace.

Sometimes when I tell you to put something away in the dining room, you have been known to ask, "But where's the dining room?"   Mommy often wonders what goes on in that head of yours.

I'm so proud of all your accomplishments lately:  double-knotting your shoes, reading anything and everything, spelling Eldest's second grade words, knowing all the lyrics to every top 40 tune out there...

And now that you're six, well, we'll work on riding a bike like your brothers.  And ending the thumb-sucking.

I can't wait to see what this new year of SIX has in store for you, buddy.

PRECIOUS...and what a lovely homage to your sweet little (slowpoke! ;) ) six-year-old. Wishing him an abundantly happy path to seven!

Happy Birthday!!! That last picture is a classic! I am so happy that the 9 hours at least resulted in a win, but I'm sorry that the game was so horrible other than that! The Orioles just don't have what it takes this year (or the last 5 years to say the least)! Hope you had fun in Charm City!

So adorable! I hope he had a great birthday at the game in Baltimore.

My birthday was yesterday, and I had a few birthdays here and there that had to be spent partly in the car driving when we were on family vacation, so I can totally relate.
