This One Time? At Bloggy Boot Camp?

What I learned in Baltimore this weekend:

That I'm much more witty in my head and on paper than I am standing in front of the room with a microphone.  Gah.

That blogging is my hobby and I refuse to let it make me feel guilty.

That I will pick and choose certain steps I can take to improve this site (see my shiny new tabs at the top?!), but the fact of the matter is that what I've built here so far, whether good or bad, "right" or "wrong" has somehow worked.  For me.  And my readers.

That those "memes" that circulate around the blogosphere?  Yeah, well the proper pronunciation rhymes with "dreams" and is not "me me".  Who knew?!

That those whom I specifically wanted to meet in person were all that I hoped for (and more!)

That if Tiffany could bottle up and sell her energy, enthusiasm and charisma, the world would be such a better place.  She's got a good thing going here, folks.

In short, the weekend was all about positive energy, collaboration and community.  All things you won't necessarily find at a bigger conference.  I urge you to check out the other Bloggy Boot Camp stops and seriously consider attending.  I promise you won't be sorry!

Did you attend Bloggy Boot Camp as well?  Link up your recap post below!!!

I was so glad that I got to meet you this weekend! I learned a lot, but I'm also just picking and choosing what to change...and have stopped having a nervous breakdown about doing all the "wrong" things.

I had such a blast meeting everyone and I learned so much. But like you said for now this is a hobby and it should make you feel guilty or overwhelmed {guilty!}. I will be linking up soon once I can sit down and write a recap.

You WERE witty in person, and super nice. :) I love that the conference did not make me feel like I suck & am way too far behind to ever catch up. I left w/ a can-do attitude and lots of new ideas.

Is that possible?

I thought your presentation was absolutely one of the best... you kept it real, you made me laugh, and you reminded me that it's okay to still be learning!!

I'm going to try and get Philly on my calendar... how cool would that be?!

Bloggy Boot Camp rocked and I can't wait till Philly. I think you did a fine job on that mic!! You made me laugh.

I agree with you about learning that there are some changes to be made and others to let pass. It is OUR blog after all. I have decided to not move to Wordpress, but rather stick with what I have going. Like you said it works for me and my readers so why switch it up?? Congrats on taking off word verification though. :-)

Thanks for posting a recap with links. Can't wait to visit everybody and hear what they had to say.

SARAH! I just love you. I'm so glad we met. And your recap is so great, just what I was thinking too! Great minds think alike, I suppose. Please keep in touch because I'd be sad if I never got to exchange crazy stories over drinks with you again!

Well, I'm not saying I'm not smart enough for Mr. Linky, It just seems to be a possibility.

I used the wrong link - my Bloggy Boot Camp post is at http://bestoffates.blogspot.com/2010/03/bloggy-style-boot-camp.html

I know - first I take forever to get the post up, now I can't figure out how to share it! Fail.
