Turning 40 has been relatively painless.  And not at all different from 39, really.  Or 38, or 37, or 36...

(Except for the weight gain.  And slowed metablism.  And boobs that are lower than they should be.)

(Oh, and increased gray hair.)

But on the other hand, I feel more secure in my skin than ever before.  I know who I am.  I *like* who I am (most of the time!) The boyz are older and self-sufficient.  I have more free time to do the things that I wanna do.  (Like crossfit.)

Yet there's one condition that has been plaguing me incessantly ever since I hit the big 4-0.

My skin.

Not only am I collecting more and more wrinkles as time marches on (across my forehead), I also seem to be reverting back to my high school days of yore with the acne.

Look, zits are like a rite of passage.  Everyone gets them.  As a teenager.

So you buy your Clearasil and you pick at them, while moaning in the mirror about how UGLY you look.

Been there, done that.  I've paid my dues.  In the form of a big zit on prom night.

I'm so not having this Return of the Zits Part Deux.

Please tell me I'm not the only one.  And then tell me what product(s) you use to prevent this "zituation."

Hiding a current one on my chinny chin chin.

Yep and at 2 years shy of 40! I use a daily Clean and Clear acne control moisturizer (OTC) and take a daily prescription medication to help control it. Works wonders!

Try proactive

Is it so lame to say I steal stuff from my teenager? Probably.

One thing her dermatologist did suggest is to use the facial wipes after her games or practices to immediately get the sweat off and stop it from forming the zits. So I keep a pack in the car now to wipe my face after crossfit or soccer because (unfortunately for those around me) I don't always shower immediately afterwards.
