Save Gas $$$ With Cumberland Farms!

If you are a New Englander, you definitely know where a "Cumby's" is....or, should I say, a "Cumbahland Fahhhhhhms".  I happen to have one right at the bottom of my street, so when I was contacted about Cumberland Farms' new SmartPay program, I was definitely interested.

It's a new payment program that allows you to save 10 cents on every gallon of gas. Every. Day.

Here's how the new SmartPay program works:

1.  You can download the SmartPay app for free to your iPhone or Android - or, if you still rock a flip-phone (really?  you do?), you can pick up an actual SmartPay card at participating Cumberland Farms/Gulf locations.

2.  It's free to enroll, and you can link the mobile app right to your checking account.
**All you need for this is your checking account number and your bank routing number.  SmartPay will then make a small deposit/withdrawal that you will need to confirm.

3.  To fill up your tank, simply enter your pump number into the mobile app, which will automatically turn on the pump and withdraw the amount right from your checking account.  No cash, coins or credit cards needed.
**I seriously felt like it was MAGIC the first time I did this.  It was quick and easy and MAGICAL. Heh.

4.  You'll save 10 cents on every gallon of gas every time you use SmartPay, and the app even includes a rolling-dial display showing your lifetime savings.

And looky, looky, dear readers....look what I have for youuuuuuuuuuu....

It's a $25 gift card to Cumberland Farms!

Simply leave a comment below and tell me where you normally buy your gas and whether you would use the SmartPay app - I now use it every.single.time I get gas and I love that it comes directly out of my checking account and that I feel soooo cool using my smartphone to buy gas!

Winner will be chosen at random on Monday, March 18th.

This program piqued my interest but Cumby's is a bit out of my way. I usually buy my gas at BJs in Franklin because it's usually the least expensive there. But .10 everytime might just change my routine. Liz at theblacks-ma dot com

I always buy gas at Crystal Gas, even though across the street is a penny less (Not great customer service). I would use the SmartApp only if the gas price was worth it. Do they hike the regular price up so that the 10 cent savings is the going rate?

I try to use Cumby's as much as possible as they tend to be less expensive and I can also get a 99 cent iced tea or coffee!

Honestly, I looked into getting the app but was turned off by the checking account requirement. I know I can use my PayPal account instead but the savings is only 5 cents at that point.

I'm torn...

Cumberland Farms! Funny, the last time I was getting gas I noticed the SmartPay sign and wondered what it was. Now I know! I'll definitely be signing up.
