Slow Down and Savor the Holidays With Marie Callender's

Who doesn't like baking pies?

So when The Motherhood contacted me on behalf of Marie Callender's and asked who wanted to sample their Dutch Apple pie, I was all like "Pick me!  Pick me!"

(True confession:  I've only made pie ONCE in my life.  It was a few weeks ago for Eldest's birthday.  And it was kinda soupy.)

I knew Eldest would be thrilled to taste-test his favorite dessert with me:

And I knew I would be thrilled to not have to peel apples and roll out a homemade crust. (Ok, not really.  I've never ever done that before. Frozen pie crusts FTW!)

Eldest and I were the only 2 in our Trenches who wanted to partake.

It was nice to be able to have some alone-time with him in the kitchen, just us, sitting at the table and eating our pie.  Chatting about school, sports, and our family plans for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday.

As you can see, he was pretty happy about it - both the "sitting down (with Mom) and savoring (the pie)".

Honestly, there is definitely a difference between *store bought* and *homemade* pie.  There just is.  But as far as frozen pies go, Marie Callender's has done it well.  Especially when it comes to saving time!
