I Gots My Hair Done

So last night I traversed my way into the hecticness of downtown Boston during rush hour.  All for a good cause - a free cut and color courtesy of Redken and Jean-Pierre Salon!

The salon manager, Kris, was also my stylist.  She sat me down and discussed what I liked and didn't like in terms of my hair color (like = caramels and butterscotch colors; dislike = brassy red) and cut (like = longer length and not too many layers; dislike = the FRIZZ, the heaviness and dryness) and then discussed with me what SHE thought would be my best move.

I agreed.

And we got started.

Did you know that the Redken company also owns L'Oreal, Lancome and Kiehl's?  True fact.

Jean-Pierre Salon is a Redken Elite Salon.  Kris, the manager, has been in the business for over 30 years, and has seen it all.  She absolutely stands behind the Redken name and the quality of the brand.

I received the Chromatics haircolor, along with a fortifying glaze.

And then waited for the color to set while Kris chatted with me about the Redken brand and my past haircoloring errors, like having hair color pulled allllll the way through my hair.  That's a big no-no and causes more frizz.

Once I was colored, it was time for the cut.

I chickened out, you guys.  I was thinking about getting bangs.  I didn't.  I could have gone shorter (although she did cut about 3 inches), but I didn't.

So, in the end, it actually kind of looks the same.  I KNOW.

But but IS shorter, more cleaned up, lighter in color, and there are NO GRAYS.

Before and After
And not only did I get the awesome services, I also got a Purologie gift pack from Kris:

I win!
