Conversations with Coca-Cola

Well, hey there!  Sorry for the absence.  Juggling is hard, yo.

Balls in the air/constantly dropping:  Work, Home, Children, Marriage, Football, Social Media, Friendships...


So I skipped town for a few days last week.  Coca-Cola graciously invited me to their conference for social media moms in Atlanta, Georgia.  It was a nice break from the Work, Home, Children, Marriage, Football juggle, as the focus was exclusively on social media, living positively, balancing and ME.

It honestly couldn't have come at a better time.  And for those of you who know me, you know that this was authentic for me, as I am a tried and true Coke Zero addict.  So the brand FIT.

I even had a traveling buddy!  Jodi and I were lucky enough to be able to travel together.  Upon our arrival in sunny cosmopolitan Atlanta, we were able to RELAX atop the roofdeck pool lounge at the swanky W Atlanta Downtown hotel

The next day was down to business - a full day at the World of Coca-Cola.  With Katherine Stone leading off with a frank discussion about growing our social media platforms; to a vision board session (Where do I want this blog to go?  Do I want more for it?  What is my focus?); to learning about Wendy's generous support of adoption programs; to an informative Women in the Workplace Panel led by Coca-Cola female executives (I totally identified with this one.  And guess what?  There really is no cure for Mommy Guilt.  Everyone gets it.  Everyone hates it.  But everyone finds ways to deal with it.); to an awesome tour of the World of Coca-Cola (with shopping!); to a steak dinner was a whirlwind day of shared knowledge, support and vision.

The next day we were up and at 'em again, this time at Coke Headquarters, where we learned about Coke's history and its commitment:
We also heard from Minute Maid (got great lunch box ideas!), BACARDI Mixers (got great new drink ideas!) and 2 of Coke's registered dieticians (got guilt about my lack of exercise lately!).

I love that Coca-Cola does this.  (This was their fourth social media moms conference.)  I love that brands are realizing that we, the moms, the women, hold the buying power and influence.  I love that Coca-Cola cares enough about this to fly in bloggers from all over the country; to spend the money; to take the time; to listen to us; to hear us; to WANT to hear from us.

They do it.  And they do it RIGHT.

I absolutely love that brands are contacting and communicating with bloggers and making this effort. I love reading about stuff from someone I trust. Coca-Cola just earned a point in my book :)

I felt the same way about the conference and am so, so, so glad we met. You have the brightest smile that just stays on your face all the time. I hope that rubs off on me.
