What I'm Loving - May 2012 Edition

1. Dance Moms Miami.  It's one of those shows that I simply can't turn off.  Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely still loyal to Abby Lee and her blatant favoritism of Maddie and Mackenzie, but Victor and Angel are sneakily growing on me...

2.  Asics sneakers.  I have always been loyal to Mr. Saucony, but have been known to cheat on him with Mr. Nike, who woos me with his flashy styles and colors.  I know that Asics and Brooks and Mizuno are great running shoes, but I was loyal to good old Saucony.  Until this spring, when I really began running, and concurrently, began having lots of leg aches.  I knew I had a lot of mileage on my old faithful Sauconys and needed new running shoes, so I began to shop around.  And Mr. Asics called to me with his bright flashy pink and his surprising comfort.  My first run in them was a 7-miler.  With no leg pain, no blisters, no hurt.  Just COMFORT.  And I heard angels sing.

3. Lara Bars.  Now I'm not what you would call a "healthy eater."  Heh.  So when my Sis introduced me to these bars and showed me that they are gluten-free, non-gmo (whatever that means), kosher, and made with fair trade certificate chocolate, I was all, "...and I bet they taste like cardboard."  But they don't!  And each different flavor of Lara bar contains no more than 9 ingredients, all of which you can actually pronounce because they are made from whole food.

4. Old Navy Compression Capris.  I have died and gone to heaven, for I have found the BEST PAIR OF RUNNING PANTS EVER.  At Old Navy, of all places.  I paid full-price for them ($30) and wish I could find more.  They look like this, and secret?  I don't fold the top over so they suck in my belly fat EVEN MORE.

5. Coconut Lemon Sour.  When Hubby and I went away for our anniversary, we had some pre-dinner cocktails at a PF Chang's.  This drink was on their menu, and it tasted just like SUMMER!  We chatted with the bartender, got the recipe (coconut vodka, coconut water, lemon juice and simple syrup), but alas, have been unable to replicate the refreshing taste at home, dammit.  But we're still trying, because how else are we gonna get rid of all that coconut water?  Blech.

6. Suave Keratin Shampoo.  I may spend a lot of money on hair cuts and coloring, but I don't really like to pay a fortune for shampoo.  I'm so glad I found this Suave product.  It definitely takes (some, but not all of) the frizz out of my hair and is the best product I've found thus far if you're a cheapskate like me.

So what are you loving this May???

My hairstylist said they taught them in beauty school that expensive shampoo doesn't make a difference, but expensive product does. She says to save money on shampoo/conditioner and invest in a good root lifter (what I need), etc.

Stopping in from SITS Spring Fling! I am also addicted to the Dance Moms show. I watch online, though, since we don't have cable. And I'm desperate to find out if Abbeygeddon was the season ender or there is actually another episode. WHAT HAPPENED? Who needs fictional soap operas?

I feel the same way about my New Balance running shoes as you do about your Asics. BLISS.

My hair is frizzy too. I will have to check out the shampoo you mentioned.

Stopping from SITS!

I actually really notice a difference in my hair depending on my shampoo and conditioner. I have used that Suave Keratin and I really like it too! I was buying some good stuff at CVS but they stopped making it (lucky me), so when that runs out, I will be buying more Suave.

I love Lara Bars!
