Single-Parenting Is Not For the Weak

Mornings:  hitting snooze; waking; showering; opening shades; making breakfasts; making lunches, refereeing; yelling; ordering to brush teeth; washing dishes; picking up; emptying dishwasher; opening windows; ushering out door; waving to bus; driving to work.

Evenings:  arriving home; thanking babysitter; unpacking backpacks; signing homework agendas; doing spelling sentences; loading everyone into car and exercising at track; coming home and making dinner; refereeing; yelling; ordering to shower; inspecting little bodies for dirt and grime after showers; doing laundry; picking up; washing dishes; scooping ice cream for dessert; doing more dishes; running dishwasher; putting clean clothes away; picking clothes out for school; negotiating bedtimes; ordering to brush teeth; tucking in; kissing cheeks; watching TV; playing Words With Friends; reading on Kindle; falling asleep with light on and glasses still on.

Single-parenting.

This morning was Day 5 of the lather, rinse, repeat of doing it all alone.  Hubby arrives home tonight.

I'm so tired glad.

I know where your coming from - my husband works nights (by necessity not choice) so I'm all alone during the week to do what it takes for my three 7 year olds! Most times it all I can do to get to the weekend for hubby to take over!

I have been in the same boat this week. John got home late last night. Thank God! I am totally exhausted and my house looks like it has been ransacked.

Oh so true! We are so blessed to have our husband to help us with the kids kids. My best fried is a single mom of two. I know how she's been struggling to raise her kids alone.

I feel you here because I've been there. "ordering to brush teeth" - giggle - there is no asking, no telling, always ordering, why is that?????? And I have girls! I thought that came with sugar & spice & everything nice. . .
