Slow Cooker Giveaway with www.RelishRelish.com

Now that it's full-fledged autumn here in New England, with the leaves changing, the air cooling and football season in full swing, I start to get hungry for "fall" foods.  Like chili.  And ribs.  And beef stew.  Yummmm...

But being a full-time working mom with 3 boyz on 3 separate football teams, family meals are a rarity.

Enter Stage Left:  the crockpot
Enter Stage Right:  the Relish! website (Subscribe for only $7 a month!  And psst...there's a 20% off coupon code on my right sidebar!)

The website (it's mom-run!) is an easy to use meal-planning service for busy families.  It helps you prepare healthy, creative meals every week.  All you have to do is simply pick from great weekly recipes and then an organized grocery list is automatically created for you.  Just hit the grocery store for 5 days worth of home-cooked meals!

Variations of the meals include freezer meals, vegetarian, super quick, simple gourmet and tons of kids faves that, most importantly, don't include the word NUGGET.  Heh.

As a matter of fact, I'm trying this recipe from Relish! this week:

Slow Cooker Dr. Pepper BBQ Pork

 3-4 pounds shoulder pork roast
18oz barbeque sauce
12oz bottle Dr. Pepper

Cook on low 8-10 hours in crockpot

I mean, seriously, how easy is that?!

The kind folks at Relish! would love to offer you your very own slow cooker (like the one pictured above)!

Simply leave me a comment (make sure your blog or your name is linked to a valid e-mail address, please) with your favorite meal to make in a crockpot.

Winner chosen September 30.

I love making a special meal my mom always makes and has passed on the recipe to me. We use Kielbasa, pineapple, apricot jelly and any flavor mustard. It is so good!

I NEED this crock pot. Mine is so tiny.

My favorite meal is pot roast. I just get whatever cut of roast looks the best/is cheapest, one can cream of mushroom soup and one envelope of lipton onion soup mix. It makes a really nice gravy that you can eat over rice (Success 10 minutes in the mircowave) or mashed potatoes (Ore Ida 10 minutes in the mircrowave).

My favorite meal is Turkey chili. Really thinking about it, anything in a crock pot is my favorite because it is so easy!

Ohhh...it's so pretty! My crockpot is 10 years old and I have to turn it on with a wrench because I lost the knob. I still love it, though.

My favorite thing to make is peanut butter chicken: 3-4 chicken pieces, 1/2 cup peanut butter, 1/2 cup chicken broth.

Yummy!

I pull out the Crockpot to make turkey chili. But my favorite dish in the Crockpot is beef stew. Mine is so tiny I would love a larger size.

Mmmm...my fave is just to take a whole fryer chicken, sprinkle it with salt/pepper/garlic powder, dump it in the crock pot and let that puppy go! Literally falls off the bone!

We have a little crock pot and a big one - best is pot roast in the big one. SERIOUSLY. There is not a more tender roast. But, in the little pot, we make chili queso dip. Mmmmm, mmmm, yummy.

I love love love making beef stew in a crock pot! I actually just bought some stew beef yesterday. And yes, with 2 girls going in 2 different directions, crock pots are the way to go! Thanks!

My hubbie is a veggie lover...we have been talking about getting a crock pot to make beans and lentil dishes.

Holy crap, I need this crockpot. I tried to cram a pork loin into mine yesterday and I couldn't shut the lid. Sigh.

So, to answer your question... #1 pulled pork. #2 any soup/stew. #3 pasta sauce (seriously so much better than store bought).

So I had to read Lorie's comment twice because at first I thought she was cooking pot in her crockpot (which was interesting), but then realized she meant potatoes.

My husband refuses to eat anything from the crockpot, but at this point I am really past caring what he will eat and am all about making life easier for me so crockpot recipes will be on the menu this fall and winter.

He can eat a bowl of cereal.

Dedicated Crockpot "chef" here. I feed a group of scrapbookers every week...and make my holiday saurkraut in it...and all the football chili the season will allow. My favorite 'quick and easy' is chicken breast, salsa and cream cheese...makes a yummy mexican chicken for inside a tortilla or over rice. My favorite is a minestrone soup...mouth watering!

I have never really used a crockpot for cooking a meal - just calico beans or BBQ meatballs. I really need to start though because the kids' schedules are going to kill me. I never have time to cook a meal during the week and I'm getting really tired of sandwiches and cereal!

Love crock pot! In fact I just finished a lovely breakfast of apple sauce that I made in the crock pot. In the winter especially I do everything in the crock pot. Stews, soups, meatballs, you name it - start it when I leave in the morning and then supper and is done and done when I get home! Yippeeeee

I'm so excited to start using a slow cooker. My favorite recipe that I've found so far is for Lentil Sweet Potato Stew.

I would *love* a new crockpot. We are still using the one my husband got from his first wedding (not to me.) It still works OK and I would totally donate it to someone in need, but I can't quite justify buying a new one. But I'd sure love to not see that old floral pattern sitting on our counter anymore.
Ahem. Anyway, I guess that wasn't what you were asking. I just made chicken dumplings last week and they were really good! And I can't cook and am known for ruining things.
