Motivating Our Troops

This weekend, I FINALLY got around to lugging up from the basement all the supplies we had gathered for the troops (from my brother Dan's going-away party).  The boyz were eager to help me unload the entire stash on our dining room table and paw through it.  Baby was miffed he couldn't keep any of the candy for himself, so when it came time for each of them to pack a box, Baby packed ALL the candy in his one box.

(Hey soldiers!  Thanks for protecting us!  Try not to get too many cavities!)
Gimme that candy!

...And then there's Rainman, who slowly and methodically packed his box, leaving the prepackaged beef and cheese on top, with a special note for Uncle Dan: "You're not Santa.  You smell like beef and cheese." (from the movie Elf, their favorite movie to watch together)

So last night I made all the boyz sit down and write a letter to pack in their boxes.

This was Middle's:

Yeah.  We just about died.

I'm thinking those brave soldiers in Afghanistan might get a laugh too.

Which is a good thing.

Well said, Middle. I also love the beef and cheese comment.

xoxo to Dan and his buddies.

Here's hoping he doesn't get shot in the nuts! (Or anywhere else.)

Only in a house full of boys!! I LOVE it! Even at this age you can see where the priorities are. I hope this give all the brave men over there a huge laugh!

How nice of you to have them write letters and what a BONUS that it was such sage advice given. That boy knows a thing or two about being careful, I can see. :)

Well, I got a laugh, anyway. :)
