When visitors enter my Trenches, they frequently exclaim, "But your house is so clean! How do you do it with three boys AND working full-time??"
Confession (said in a *whisper*): My house is not CLEAN. My house is SURFACE CLEAN.
Let's just be clear--there is a huDge difference.
I hate clutter. I hate piles. I hate things being out of place.
I don't really mind dust. Or cobwebs. Or how if you swiped a wet paper towel on my kitchen floor, it would come up grayish black...
Please don't be deceived. Yes, my Trenches are orderly. Picked up. Clutter-free.
But for the love of God, please don't look behind that door. I'm sure the dustballs would choke you. And while you're not looking behind the door, please also ignore the handprints and streaks on every single window in the place. And oh, could you please try not to notice the cobwebs and dust on all the light fixtures?
Deep Cleaning. A phrase I abhor.
This then begs the question, "So where do you put everything?"
I have closets. Plenty of 'em.
