It was a trifecta of awesomeness: (1) Hanging out with local blog friends (2) to chat and eat a meal all while (3) getting paid!
Our challenge: To come up with new yummy twists on three of our favorite summer recipes using Lawry's spices. The recipe theme we were assigned was "large group gatherings".
Kim and I were in charge of the meat portion of the program.
[Insert pounding/rubbing/beating the meat jokes here, please.]
[In my defense though, it's kinda hard not to laugh when you are talking about "rubbing" and "meat" in the same sentence, no?]
That being said:
4 tbsp Lawry's Seasoned Salt
2 tbsp each of black pepper; oregano; paprika; cinnamon; chili powder
2 tsp garlic powder
6 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
Lube meat with olive oil (heh). Shake or rub with Tango until meat is covered. Grill to perfection.
The lovely Kim "(wo)manning" the grill on a scorching hot day. Bless her.
We paired our grilled chicken and steak tips with Savory Whole Grain Pasta Salad from Jodi and Karen, and Spicy Veggie Puffs courtesy of Niri and Charlene.
Jodi's kitchen was aflurry that day. Aflurry with lunch, laughter and Lawry's!
Disclosure: For our participation, we were each provided a stipend along with compensation for the ingredients. (The cash is sweet, but I would have done it for free. Shhhh....) I love my Boston blogger gals!
