Where Have All the Comments Gone?

To be sung to the tune of "Where Have All the Cowboys Gone" by Paula Cole:

Oh, I get all ready with my trusty laptop
Why don't I go sit down on the couch
Take shelter in my Trenches
My brain spewing words forth
Like a glass of cold lemonade
I will keep on writing if you'd just leave a comment

Where is my "I agree"?
Where is my "Very well said"?
Where is my "Good post, Sarah!"
Where have all the comments gooooone?

Why don't you stay longer
Kick back and do some reading
And I'll just bask in the glow of your praise
Oh, I know your eyes hurt from reading others' profound words
But can you find the time just for me?
I will keep on writing if you'd just leave a comment.

I am writing my best stuff these days
But you don't, but you don't even comment heeeeeere
Why not?
Why not?
Why not?

I will keep on writing if you'd just leave a comment
I know you read from your smartphone
I know your time is short
I know that I'm no Dooce, but
Where have all the comments gooooooone?
Yippee yo, yippee yeah

Hi Sarah,
I blame Google Reader! I read my blogs in my reader nowadays, and it requires an extra few steps to leave comments on my favorite blogs. :)

LOL :D I think everyone has that issue, well minus Paula Cole ;) Sometimes it seems there is chatting via Twitter & Facebook.

I love that song, but now I like it even more! Great rewrite! After a slow summer, my comments are slowing picking up again.

Well sung! :)
I have to agree, it's the readers... No matter which one you use, there's always a few clicks more for commenting. But we're all still reading!

We're still here. Just crazy busy. Love your stories - please keep them coming!

I love it. I'm so glad I'm not the only one who writes her own lyrics to songs already out there! And then expects readers to sing them (and I did). Just been busy the past few months!

LOL. I'm here. And I blame Twitter for dividing our attention even further than it was already divided...

I'm here! I blame Google reader, too. It's too easy to read over there. I only click through if I have something important/relevant to say.

So, HI!!

I'm going to blame school starting and then being out of town for two weeks. :)

The whole internet is quiet lately...it's driving me nuts! I don't blame Google Reader...the only extra step is actually clicking on a link...lame-o excuse!!!

I feel the same way! Great song by the way, I'm sure the tune will be stuck in my head all night!

I wonder the same thing! I read regularly, but I've gotten really bad about commenting. Sorry!

I'm still here! Although I feel like I have way too many blogs in my reader to comment these days... although yours is always a favorite.

I read in a reader too but maybe comment on some other people's blogs and they will comment on yours. Just a thought.

I'm way too busy with unemployment these days to read blogs - I miss my 9 - 5 when I could goof off and read all my favorite girls online. Blame it on the economy...I'm busier now that I've ever been!

I am starting to think you are in the wrong career!! This being your second post of lyrics, I think you should quit your job and becaome a song writer....maybe for Justin Bieber??....

It's not just you, Sarah. Le sigh.

Loved the lyrics. :)
