Obligatory Back-to-School Post

Could you hear my whoops of delight from where you were?

Do you KNOW how long I've been waiting for this day?  The day on which all THREE of my children are finally in school FULL-TIME?  The day I no longer have to pay for preschool or a full-time nanny/babysitter?  The day I can finally release some of the Working Mother Guilt I have been lugging around for ages?

Let's see....I've been counting down since, oh...., (carry the 1, subtract the 2)...probably right around this time...
...or perhaps it was even earlier...
So needless to say, there were no tears shed this morning.  Baby couldn't have been more excited about finally being a "big boy" like his brothers after so many years of being forlornly left behind.  Clad in new hightop school sneakers (just like Eldest's) and a one-strap backpack (just like Eldest's), he eagerly climbed aboard that big yellow bus without even a backwards glance at Mommy and Daddy eagerly waving and giving him thumbs-up.  Onward to full-day kindergarten.  And third grade.  And first grade.  My boyz.

And so once that big yellow bus pulled around the corner, carrying all three of my brethren off in pursuit of education (from 7:50am until 3:15pm!), Hubby and I giddily exchanged high-fives and big sighs of relief.

We did it.

We made it through.

That is so incredibly awesome! Congrats on getting there - and not ending up in the poor house. :)

September 2013 is the magic time from us - can't wait! But trying not to rush it. . .

I know how you feel. I have been a homeschooler and this year my kids decided they wanted to go back to regular school. SO last week I packed mine up and carried them both to school from 7:50 to 2:20 every day. I feel a little bit guilty that someone else has my kids all day and I am not paying them money for it, but it is SO NIC to have all day to myself. I love it! I hope they love regular school and want to stay in it! =)

I'm right there with you :) Day two for me. I really feel like this is a new chapter... and I get to be a main character again instead of just a supporting role.

I am sitting here writing out a big, fat pre-school check and DREAMING of kindergarten.
