Love Letter

Last night was a rare "family night" in our Trenches, since football practice was cancelled due to weather.  I arrived home to find my 3 boyz and their father in the sunroom.  Hubby was in his usual spot on the couch, remote in hand.  (SHOCKER)  Eldest was on the laptop, looking at football pictures.  Middle was busily perusing a toy catalog and circling the items he wanted Santa to bring.  (Yes, it has started already.  The barrage of toy catalogs in the mail, which, in turn, leads to animated discussions about ChristmastoysSantagimmegimmegimme.  Ack!)

And Baby was over in the corner, busily working on something with pen, paper, and markers.

This caught my attention, as it is RARE for him to stay in one place for any length of time.

My heart soared when I caught a glimpse of what he was doing.

Drawing a picture!

For me?  Oh, how sweet.  My youngest.  My sweet kindergartener who loves his momma and NO ONE ELSE.

I walked over to him to get a closer look.

"Whatcha doin buddy?  Drawing Mommy a nice picture?"

And then I saw it.

Seems Miss Callie has herself an admirer.

And this Momma can only brace herself for the many years of girl crushes yet to come...

So cute!!! And I totally feel your pain. Colin came home from Kindergarten within the first two weeks talking about his "girlfriend" Greta. And now? That's ALL we hear about.

It's gonna be a long thirteen years ... :)

I remember Cupie's first love letter. She got it last year in Kindergarten after about a month of school. It was so sweet. Hubby, on the other hand, was ready to hunt the boy down and scare him - and I quote, "I didn't think I'd have to start my shotgun collection quite this early." Dude, he has a lot to learn . . .

So cute! She must be special if he is sitting still.
And why do they only sit still when dad is around. If mom is home they are always bouncing around looking for something "to do".
