This Will Make the Hair On Your Arms Stand Up - A True Life Ghost Story

This is my brother-in-law.  He could not be anything more UNLIKE his older brother (my Hubby).  I'm actually amazed they came out of the same womb, they are so completely opposite.

Anyway, my BIL relayed this story to Hubby and I.  It happened about a month ago.

He and his girlfriend were cleaning out her son's closet after her son had moved out.  They discovered an ouija board.  BIL didn't want it in the house, so he took it with him one day and threw it in the dumpster behind his girlfriend's business.

A few weeks later, they discovered the same ouija board back in the closet.

I'm baaaaaaaaack.

(Weird, right?)

So this time, BIL thought he'd try to get rid of it permanently.  One night they had a bonfire.  He threw the ouija board into the fire.  All it consisted of was a cardboard box, a flat cardboard "game" surface, and a plastic triangle thingy.

Well, he says that it took 2 HOURS for the cardboard to burn in the fiery flames.  It blackened, but never crumbled and turned wispy and papery for all that time.

And then it took another 2 hours for the plastic triangle to burn.

4 hours.

(Weirder, right?)

So THEN, the very next morning, BIL got up to shower.  He said the bathroom window was open and the fan was on. Yet when he stepped out of the shower, the mirror was completely fogged over.  And he saw a FACE in the mirror!  A face that stayed there for 1-1/2 hours.

(Are you sufficiently weirded out yet?)

He called to his girlfriend to come see.  She understandably freaked.  They took pictures.

And then the next morning??

Before BIL stepped into the shower, he washed the mirror.  Yet again, when he stepped out, there was the face.  This time there was no fog surrounding it.  It was just the face, but BIGGER.

But since then, nothing else has happened.

Last night Hubby showed me the picture that his brother sent him on his cell phone.  And then he immediately deleted it because he is a total 'fraidy cat didn't want it on there.

So I called my BIL and asked him to send it to me.

No joke.

I'm thinking my BIL needs to place a few phone calls.  To either her..
...or them.
I kinda want to keep the picture on my cell phone because it's a good story to tell, but at the same time I'm a 'fraidy cat like my husband it gives me the creeps.  Would you keep it?

Got any spooky stories of your own to share?

That does not look like a happy face. I have never had to take a sleeping pill before but now tonight I may need to.....
I'd get the face off your phone but keep it here on the blog.

Holy sh*t that's freaky.

Makes me excited for Halloween. I love good ghost stories as long as they are not happening to me.

Yikes. Delete it. (I'd delete this blog post!)

That is definitely creepy. I had a crazy experience with a Ouija board once. I haven't touched one since!

Oh EM Gee!

That is SO freaking creepy! I don't know if I like that at all!

My last ghost story was that I lived in an old house in an old part of a town. We would hear someone,a woman, call our name clear as day. I can't tell you how many times one of us would answer and then realize...that is a shortened version, but it was creepy!

Oh my gosh, your photo is so scary and I want to look again, but I don't know if I can!

Creepy. If you look closer there are a couple faces more in the mirror pic. Would that be the reflection of your BIL? This is why I have never never played with a Ouija board- that an I cant even watch a preview of a scary movie alone. I just change the channel.

Supremely creepy!

You've now recorded it forever here so you should definitely delete it off your phone. I wouldn't be carrying that around with me.

I get creeped out by the weirdest things. I can't watch The Shining unless it's broad daylight and I'm sitting in the chair (our couch "floats" in the family room and there is no way I'm sitting there because something could reach up from behind . . .)

BTW - I'm leaving your blog now and will return when you post something new :)

You should definitely delete it. If I was your BIL, I think I would move.

I love stories like this so much that I wish there were a blog of nothing but them!
This is an awesome story. I would keep the face picture, just because it's very cool! And terrifying!

I'm not a fraidy cat (I lie... I'm the biggest, but I got protection)... I got religion... seriously - this kind of thing is very real, and at the risk of sounding TOTALLY UNCOOL... and now you'll NEVA read my blog... BIL needs to get Jesus... Only way to fight weird mirror pics and win... I used to have things walking round my flat coz my flat mate didn't have religion and I did - I used to do the trenches warfare prayer thing and eventually the things would attack her at night (couldn't touch me) so we had to get our church home group in to anoint the place with oil - it left... Then I left... got a bit fraidy catted out actually... Like I said... very real war out there in the spiritual, no matter how daft you think I am - doesn't change it's reality.

Wow...the "real" stories are always the scariest, aren't they? We sometimes hear footsteps in the night, but I'm convinced it's the cat, even though she's usually curled up at the bottom of our bed. SITS sent me by, and I'm glad they did!

That is freaky...I'm retelling that story all weekend long.

What was their son into?? I hope they don't find a The Ring-like video next. If they do find a VHS tape in his closet, don't watch it.

My family has had nothing but bad luck with a ouija board!
My aunt was thrown against a wall and the table slammed up against her. It pinned her to the wall!

My mom had one and she had nothing but bad luck until she got rid of it.

I tried it and haven't had anything bad happen but I am freaked out by the darn thing!

My other aunt did tarot cards and she had a knife fly off the counter at her face! She quit doing readings.

I am not kidding! I witnessed two of these! I wish I could make it up but it really happened!

Creeped out. Would delete with a capital D. Not fearful, but unnecessary creepiness in a word of plenty of explainable creepiness, why add the unexplainable? ;)

EEsh!! Call the Ghost Hunters!! (LOVE that show :) )

They love this stuff and if it's creepy enough, they'll come out and investigate.

Lesley Peck said...

Yikes! Thanks for this...I probably won't sleep for awhile. ;) Nah, I'll just pray ... a lot.

I have heard you aren't to ever burn a Ouija board. I can't remember why though. When I Googled it I couldn't find an answer. But like your BIL threw it away...I read that if you throw it away it comes back 'angry'. The proper way to have disposed of it was to tear it into pieces, put holy water all over it and bury it.

That picture is just way too creepy. I'd have to delete it. I wouldn't want to keep running into in my phone.
