Electrolux, Serendipity and Kelly Ripa...oh my!

The boyz and I (and Granny-911!) were graciously invited to New York City for the day to spend some time as part of an effort to raise awareness and support for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund (OCRF).

To celebrate the reveal of their new stand-alone refrigerator and freezer (which ohmygod is amazing and huDge and would take up way too much space in my stupidly inefficient kitchen but still...I.Want.), Electrolux has teamed up with Serendipity 3 (home of the famous frozen hot chocolate!) to make banana splits for a cause.
(Kelly with Kevin Scott, CEO of Electrolux, and Stephen Bruce, owner and founder of Serendipity 3)

And while we were lucky enough to be there in person to create these yummy concoctions, you can build your own virtual banana split! For each dessert you create, Electrolux will donate $1 to the OCRF as part of its generous commitment to help fight ovarian cancer. Plus, you'll be entered for a chance to win the daily prize, $50 toward sweet summer treats, AND the grand prize - the ultimate kitchen "split" - the new stand-alone refrigerator and freezer from Electrolux. Delicious!

You guys.  Can I just tell you that this event was top notch?  The boyz had a blast with all the entertainment that was thoughtfully provided - balloons, bubbles, face painting...and Kelly Ripa couldn't possibly have been any nicer.  She made a sincere effort to meet each and every one of us and remembered all the childrens' names and posed for dozens of pictures and looked poised (in killer high heels!) and beautiful the entire time.  She truly went above and beyond.

So won't you please help?  Create your split here to support the cause!  And if you're making one for me? Chocolate ice cream with caramel syrup, please!

My participation in the Banana Splits Campaign for a Cause was sponsored by Electrolux who provided me and my family with travel arrangements (and sugar overload!) to New York to participate.

Fabulous....

I am loving that last picture. If I were you, I would make it my Christmas card. Isn't Middle the one who doesn't participate in a photo? He sure did that day.

What a fun day. It was great meeting you, and I hope to see you again over ice cream some day.

Too bad Electolux appliances break all the time. Electrolux should spend the money on fixing their appliances and not on these publicity stunts.
