From the Mouth of Baby

Just some words of wisdom my almost 5-year old (my Baby! almost 5!) has bestowed upon us in the past few weeks:

We learned about trash today at school for Earth Day.  I told my teacher that we have a recycla-bing!
A what?
You know - a recycla-bing - where we put our soda cans!
Ohhhh, you mean a RECYCLING BIN?

*****
Uncle Dan works for Madidas.  It's where I got my baseball cleats.  See?  They say MADIDAS.
Don't you mean ADIDAS?
Yeah.  That's what I said.  MADIDAS.

*****
(While building with blocks) Mom, this is where the soffet is.
The soffet?  What's a soffet?
You know.  Where water comes out when you take a bath.
Ohhhh, you mean a FAUCET?

Stop! I demand that you think I'm cute.

He talks a lot like Hayden. Sometimes I wish I could bottle up that cute little voice and listen to it over and over again especially when those teenage years come calling.

Kids say the darndest things!! Just the other day, my three year old turned to my two older boys who were arguing...one of those boys put the other in his place. Three year old says, "Ohhh, you just got housed!"
seriously...where do they come up with these things?!

He's adorable! He definitely does not have to demand that I think he's cute; I definitely do.

I love his, "That's what I said Madidas."

Cute and good n dirty. Just the way an almost-five-year old-should be!

My neighbor and I were lamenting the kids growing up the other day. Our basement was known to her daughter as the 'spaceman'. Gremlin called our dining room the 'diamond' room.

Cute! It's sad when they start saying things correctly. My 2 year old just started saying "I love you" instead of 'yuv you." I miss it.

I love the stuff that comes out of my almost 5 year old's mouth. He thinks we have a device that can discern between electrical fires, grease fires, etc. It's called a fire "distinguisher". He also says we take the NJ "turdpike" and then have to pay the "toe boot" to go into the "Hollow" Tunnel to nyc. He's very excited about his "gradulation" from pre-school next month and loves getting "infantations" to his friend's birthday parties. I love this age. My 7 year old at this age cried one day when I told him we were crossing the Brooklyn Bridge. "Mommy, I'm scared, I don't wanna go over the broken bridge! what if it falls down?" I'm gonna miss these times...

I'm totally referring to the "recycla-bing" from now on! My 4-year old says, "thank glad" instead of thank God (and really, thank glad he doesn't say thank God!) and now all of my girlfriends use it.
