Hodgepodge

Lack of caffeine...

Yeah - It tends to make one:
a) Tired
b) Grumpy
c) Bitchy
d) MISERABLE

Just ask my husband and children.

It has been 10 days now.  I still crave my preshus Coke Zero constantly.  The headaches are gone for the most part, but every once in a while I'll get a random doozy that makes me feel (a-d) above.  So the fact of the matter is that I know I can do it.  I just don't know how long I'll be able to stick with it.  At this point, I've forgotten why I even decided to quit.  Now it just seems STOOOPID.

Moving on, we are in full baseball mode in the Trenches.  The boyz absolutely love it.  This is the very first season that Baby has been finally old enough to play a team sport so he is thrilled to be a "big boy" like his brothers now.  He's hilarious.
Note the batting gloves in Baby's rear pocket.  Just like the pros.

Middle is all business.

Baby is seriously going to bite his tongue off one of these days.

Eldest also got "called up" to play AAA baseball (he currently can only play coach-pitch AA due to strict politics age restrictions in our town), so now he's going to be playing in both leagues this season (but probably only once a week with the big kids on AAA).  Regardless, this is great for him as it allows him to play competitively and make new friends.  The very first game he played, he went 3-for-3, scored 3 runs and at the end of the game, the coach awarded him the game ball! (/shameless Mommy bragging)

This Saturday, I am running a 5-mile race!  I signed up on a whim, am running ALL BY MYSELF, and am determined to break 50 minutes.  Hopefully running this race will motivate me to strive for a half-marathon in the fall.  We'll see.

Oh, the lack of caffeine.

I just am not myself.

But, I had to quit: my stomach was showing signs of erosion, so, well, there's that.

But, yeah, exactly what you posted: all of it.

I'm here crying with you, sister.

We are in the midst of our own 18 day no soda challenge.... we feel your pain!

Good luck with the 5 miler. If you break the 50 min. goal, you will be my inspiration to keep running. Of course, if you just finish the 5 miler, you would still be my inspiration!!! Good luck. Load up some fantastic tunes that you haven't run to before!!!

I tried to quit caffeine then I moved to the night shift and that was the end of that

I cannot quit caffeine (and no one who knows me wants me to), but I did just go on a two-week sugar fast. Not nearly as cool as you, but hey...

Ahhh! I can't wait until my little men are sports-age! I'm not so sure my oldest will even be interested (he's asked for dance lessons ... hmm ...) but I'm SURE my two-year-old will be.

Diet Coke is the nastiest thing in my daily menu. I should quit. I should. But I'm askeered. Good for you for taking the plunge!

Good girl, get out there and run run run. I'm so impressed.

Look at your 3 little men. I'm so so so jealous that you have all 3 in sports. My littlest is only 17 months and pissed off that he can't get out on the ice with his older brothers at hockey. Ahhh, soon enough right?

Thanks for stopping by and making my SITS day such a wonderful experience. Your time and your words mean the world to me.

Lots of yummy love,
