The Calm Before the Sports

(Pic taken this morning before I left for work)

Eldest played basketball this winter, but it was only one night a week.  That season has been done for a few weeks now.

Opening day for baseball is April 24th.  All 3 boyz are playing.  Hubby is assistant-coaching all 3 as well.  (Middle and Baby will be on the same tee-ball team.)

Baseball season will last all of May and most of June.

Then summer.  For just July, that is.

Because Pop Warner football season starts August 1st.  All 3 boyz are playing this year.  And Hubby will be coaching Eldest's team again.

So, needless to say, I have been savoring this time. This break. This lull in our lives.

Not having to rush out the door to be somewhere.

Sharing family dinners.  The unhurried pace of our evenings together.

I realize this is just the beginning of the end.

By the time all 3 are in high school?  (Yes, someday I will have a senior, a sophomore and a freshman.)

I'm going to have a SERIOUS case of bleacher butt.

Hold me.

My parents used to bring lawn chairs to our softball/baseball games. I used to get sooooo embarrassed as a kid. Now I TOTALLY get it.

I feel your butt pain with three in sports! Here baseball season started March 20 and goes to May 21st, then school is out May 26th. Summers are completely free. Football would start about end of July, but YEAH, Eldest is sticking to baseball and no football. Which starts early Sept through end of October.

Been there, done that...first with years and years of dance, now with dog shows. I love the down time when I'm not running from place to place, packing up gear, having to be someplace with the kids by a certain time, staying out late, irregular meal schedules...it's exhausting. (Of course, having the kids bored because there's "nothing to do" in the off season is another issue.)

Enjoy the short moment of peace!

I LOVE baseball, so I don't see a problem with all those games!

I just wanted to say the picture of Eldest with his arm around his brother is adorable.
