My Trenches Overfloweth

Grandma and Poppa arrive on Christmas Eve

Uncle Stan supervises the setting out of goodies for Santa

The messy, messy aftermath on Christmas morn (fingers crossed that there's not a body buried somwhere in there)

My Sis arrives with her family on Christmas Day

My Brother arrives on the 28th with my Nephew

4 siblings, ugliest to prettiest youngest to oldest

Eldest made it up to midnight with his buddies on New Years Eve (and was asleep by 12:05)

The headcount in our Trenches on Christmas Eve = 8
Christmas Day = 15
December 26-27 = 8
December 28 = 11
December 29-30 = 9
New Years Eve = 17
January 1-2 = 12
And now?  We are quietly, thankfully back to 5.  Whew.
As for next year?  I'm thinking I'd like to celebrate the holidays in this fashion instead:

Haha I'll join you poolside - all this cold weather and crazy traveling has sucked the life out of me... and I think a few days at the pool would be very restorative indeed!!

Last night my family was here for dinner and we kicked them all out after just so we could have some peace and QUIET, you're a saint for hosting people the whole holiday! Sign me up for next year's plan... that looks heavenly.

You had a full house for sure! I'll bet it feels blissfully empty now!

Your last picture said it all. Sounds like it was a blast but next year sounds like . . .

I think I broke out in a sweat looking at your headcount numbers.

I'll have to ask your advice next year as my MIL wants to spend the holidays with us. That is 4 + 1 = 5. Not sure I can handle it ;)

You loved it and you know it! I'd never want to be anywhere but home on Christmas. Other holidays? Yeah, I'd love to be poolside.

Looks like a blast!

Oh! How I would love to spend the holidays in a place with palm trees! I am so tired of this cold weather. ugh! And thanks for stopping by my blog! I'm so excited to be a part of the faculty! I've added you to my Fishful Thinking Mamas blog roll and my reading list. I look forward to working with you. :)

But maybe not. It's a gift for your kids - family and festivities!
