Who Doesn't Love the Circus?

Well, I certainly need to replace that depressing post below with something more upbeat, huh?  I meant to do so yesterday (on my DAY OFF! Squee!) but unfortunately, Mount St. Laundry and the Changing of the Seasons got the best of me.  And by Changing of the Seasons, I mean having had to transition the boyz' wardrobes from summer to fall clothing.  And by that I mean having had to venture up into the attic to hoist down bin upon bin.  And by that I mean having to then sort through said clothing, make skinny Middle try everything on (gah, sometimes even ELASTIC WAISTBANDS are too loose on his scrawny bod) and then pack up/box up the summer clothing.  But before doing so, having to sort through what will still fit Baby next year and what won't - and then separating that into piles to give to another mommy who has 4 boys, 3 of whom are younger than Baby.  Oh, and then making another pile for my 5-year old Nephew because I am fortunate to get plenty of hand-me-downs from others so I have enough clothing to give to him as well.

Deep breath.

I won't even discuss the shoe situation.  That's for another post.  And yes, I already have it drafted.  With photos.

ANYWAY.

Moving on to Happy Thoughts, okay?

And what could be happier than the circus?

Thanks to Mom Central, I am happy to be able to offer my New England readers a chance to win a family 4-pack of tickets to the opening night show (Wednesday, October 14th at 7pm) of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey's Over the Top extravaganza at the TD Garden in Boston!

Want free tickets?  Simply leave me a comment.  A lucky winner will be chosen on Wednesday, October 7th!

But don't despair if you don't win - You can still purchase a 4-pack of tickets for only $44 for weekday shows OR you can receive $4 off weekend tickets by logging into Ticketmaster and entering the coupon code:  MOM.  The circus will also be in Worcester, MA (October 8-12) and Manchester, NH (October 1-4).

Happy Friday!

(Is it just me, or does the clown look creepy to you too?)

**Updated:  Congrats to Jenn!  She won the circus tickets!

All clowns are creepy.

I need to battle the seasonal clothes as well. I hate that job.

Cool local friend I would love free tickets to see the circus, as you know Boston is my favorite city.

If I don't win thanks for the heads up about it being in Worcester.
xx

Oh well, maybe I will be lucky and win the Boston ones.

I am with you on the bins of clothes. So my Youngest gets the two older brothers' clothes. This summer I forgot to get out shorts for him. At end of summer I found shorts bin and he had 14 pairs of perfect shorts in his size.
Luckily the nurse at school needs donations for lots of boys with accidents I guess.
Note: a year ago my Oldest and Middle started wearing same size. Now have to buy more and Youngest gets tons to choose from.

Too bad I'm not in New England, my girls would love the circus.

I HATE, HATE, HATE the seasonal clothing switcheroo. In the spring, when I found 12mth, 18th & 2T clothes in my daughter's bottom drawer. I was moving 4T clothing into that drawer for the summer. I swear I won't let that happen again :)

You know, if I lived in the Boston area, I'm not sure $4 off would be incentive enough to buy tickets through Ticketmaster. Darling Husband and I have tix to see Robin Williams on Oct. 9 and Ticketmaster charged me almost $12 PER TICKET some sort of handling fee. I know highway robbers who took less from me for Pete's sake! It's ridiculous. I'd boycott them if I could and if I can get tickets any other way, I do.

Happy SITS Saturday Sharefest.

Smart mommy! we just did the whole drag-the-winter-clothes-out-and-try-it-all-on dance and WHEW! I am glad we did. The colder months are looming and thanks to the winter clothes inventory we did, I now know what fits, what doesn't, and what needs to be bought. Best to do it now before the stores become picked over.
Congrats on your award from RR too!

Clowns are the one reason we do NOT do the circus - my husband is petrified of them! So is Travis, but he also doesn't like the tight rope stuff either.

Wimps.

We spent an entire Sunday doing my daughter's closet... the bins... the labels... the ladder... the attic... the choosing what goes and what stays... the stains on stored clothes... the shoes... ugh.. Not a fun chore, at all!
