Clothing and the Wearing Thereof

I've had a bit of a revelation that's somewhat related to this Shred endeavor.

The outfit I put on for work yesterday made me look and feel FAT.  Innocently enough, the shirt was a simple cotton one from Gap outlet.  Kinda loose and flowy in both the waist and the sleeves.

I changed, opting for a much tighter-fitting sleek black tee shirt (also from Gap outlet).

And I looked better.  Like less of a chubber.  Who knew?  The tighter shirt made me feel betterAnd look thinner.

Now, I am one who normally hates wearing anything tight or clingy.  As my friends know all too well (they make fun of me all the time), if a size 6 fits, I buy size 8.  If the size 8 fits, I buy it in size 10.  I like having that "wiggle room", you know?

Maybe I need to rethink that philosophy...

Definitely re-think time!

I discovered this a couple years ago. You don't want to look like a sausage but fitted is the way to go!

And a nice deep v-neck and a good bra seal the deal :)

I think I'm going shopping for some new "fitted" clothes after my body is "Shredded" at the end of the month!

:D

Yep, it's true. Bigger clothes don't help out the figure, it's a balance though cuz you don't want to be squeezing into something too small either.

I posted about a dress from Target this week thinking the EXACT SAME THING.

I fit in a Small, but I usually buy Mediums. This week, I got the dress in an XS because the store was sold out of Small. But the XS fits. And yet, I drove 45 minutes each way to get a Small. But the XS really looks better.

Part of my fear is that the item will shrink or stretch in the wash... and then I'm screwed.

Oh yeah! You want just right. Not too tight, but not too baggy. I always opt for looser shirts because I'm small waisted and big hipped. I like to try to even it out, lol

I used to be like you and "hide" but then I realized I HAD (notice past tense, working on it again) a cute body hiding and when I felt good about what I was wearing, I had a better day!

There was a girl in college who actually said this, "When I love my outfit, I always have a great night"

Typically, I considered her an idiot, but even idiots have their moments of brilliance!

I think there must be somenthing in the air. I am havng a fat day today too. though every thing feels clingy on me and I just feel yuck. I think it must be that time of the month. I want the shred to work faster. i know it has only been four days but I need results.

Black is one of my favorites because of its amazing slimming qualities.

Wear what fits. It all depends on the cut as to whether you need more room or not.

I agree, I have a little extra weight, but I definitely feel better when stuff fits, than when stuff is big and baggy. I feel like a I'm wearing a tent when I wear the plus sizes that I still keep from before I lost 40 pounds.
You go with the sexy stuff... Now where are the pics.

Do me a favor Miss Sarah, get thee to the store and buy whatever the hell you want in a size 6 and wear it PROUDLY for those of us who aren't there (yet). You rock girlie!

Yep! Try tapered shirts (not sure that's the proper term as I'm no fashion guru) you know they kind that sorta go in at the waist? They are amazing!

Loose clothing always make me feel fat too. Nothing like slim, trim and BLACK to do the trick!

I've always found that loose clothes make me look heavier. If you fit the 6 then buy the 6 baby! And dark colors - they are always good for camouflaging ;)

Over from SITS! Hope you're enjoying the holiday weekend!

Yes, I have some loose fitting clothing and I always feel huge in them. So I try to stick to clothes that fit me better.

I'm stopping by from Moxie Media. I'm trying to check out all the blogs :)

I wish someone had expained this to me in the 80s - but big and boxy was in then, right?
