Sarah's Summer Faves

You guys! How have I not used this before?! My friend introduced the Ped Egg to me this week while on vacay. 2 words: HAPPY FEET.

Disclaimer: Yes, the crap you slough off is gross. But it stays contained in the "egg" so don't worry. No one will mistake it for parmesan cheese. I think that was my main hangup beforehand. I was pensive about WHERE THE FOOT SHAVINGS ACTUALLY WENT. Now you know. Go get yerself one.

And then THIS! Mmmm...pomegranate martini that is PRE-MADE and verrryyyy tasty. We may have gone through 2 3 of these bottles this week at the Cape.

I highly *hiccup* recommend.

Third (or is it thirdly?), there's this new website out there from Shared Book (the company that can magically turn your blog into a hardcover book - see the big Blog2Print link on my right sidebar?) called which allows you to add a dedication and photo to a selection of 200 classics and best sellers for kids and adults.

Anyway, they are running a Daily Dedication Contest on Twitter. All you have to do to enter is first, obvs, follow them on Twitter. They are going to be listing a book title every day. You can reply to them with a dedication for that book - it can be funny, sarcastic, sentimental, whatever you want, and you can enter as many times as you want. Each week they will select one person to win any book from to personalize for free.

And speaking of books, at the beach I read Testimony by Anita Shreve (love her). This was a book that I couldn't put down. It's unique in the fact that each chapter is written from a different character's perspective and tone. To summarize, it's about a sex scandal that takes place at a boarding school in New England and the fallout from the subsequent media frenzy.

Soooo, what are you loving this summer?

I will have to check that book out.

I just read a 6 book series on historical romances - which would have been better dubbed, historical porn. LOL. It was the Skye O'Malley series by Beatrice Small. It was a good smutty read to get lost in after I put Madaline to bed and before the hubby came home from work.

Right now, I am reading My Sister's Keeper. And, after that, who knows. Not much on the shelf for summer reading this year, which is bad, since we go on vacation in two weeks.

I'm getting ready to lock myself in my closet so I can find time alone to read a book so a boarding school sex scandal would be great!

I'm loving my $2.99 LLBean flip flops - thanks to the $10 coupon they sent me. Who knew flip flops didn't need to be as thin as cardboard?

That ped-egg works, huh? My feet are so cracked on the heel from the summer. Might have to invest in one!

We're loving mini-golf this summer. A lovely foursome on the links of Cape Cod. I love that the boys are old enough for us to do things as a group.

I need a good, smutty, summer read. I'll have to check it out.

I love my new ipod touch. I wish I could make myself take time to read, sounds like a good book.

How did your running plan go on vacay? Mine didn't!!

I totally want a Ped Egg. I have a very good Diamancel foot file but there's something about saving the shavings in the little egg part that seems like it would motivate me to use it more.

I also just bought a Snuggie (you know those blankets w/armholes?) and it 's a gag gift for my sister but then both my mom & husband commented that I'd probably actually USE IT if someone gave it to me. LOL! "As seen on TV...."
