Granny 911's Summer O' Fun in the Trenches came to an end last Friday. Time for her to head back to upstate NY to enjoy a few blessed weeks of peace and quiet before school starts up again. (She's a pre-K assistant teacher).
I miss my mommy already.
But!
She passed the baton to someone else...

Danny 911!
He is watching the boyz this week. I can't even tell you how much I wish I had a "
ndanny-cam" so I could see what goes on in the Trenches whilst I'm not there. Because the boyz now know the movie
Big Daddy by heart, have acquired some interesting dance moves, and Danny 911 refers to Middle as "Jim" and Baby as "Pat" AND THEY ACTUALLY RESPOND to these nicknames (sorry, this last bit is only kinda funny if you know their actual names.)
But I'll tell you this much - when I walk in the door at night, the house is CLEAN, the boyz have been fed dinner (he grills!) and one night there was even a CANDLE LIT as the boyz were
studiously reading quietly on the couch raucously playing the Wii. (One can dream...)
He's kinda like my own Mrs. Doubtfire!
Err, sans the cross-dressing. (I think, anyway...)

Oh, there is NOTHING better than an uncle for babysitting! They are always so much fun!
How fun is that?! I have a brother and a BIL, both unmarried and childless. They each love to come over and rile the boys up (usually right before bedtime). My boys would EAT UP a week of Uncle John/Chris time.
But my house would be trashed!
I would trade the movie Big Daddy for a clean house & fed kids anytime. How cool is it that they are getting to spend time with their uncle & are having fun?
I want a Danny! I mean nanny. Gah just anyone to help out with the children would be nice.

You lucky girl! My brother calls my kids by different names... my son was Henry forever. Not even near his actual name!

That is so awesome!! My boys have uncles been none have ever stayed with us. One called one of mine Steve. Would you hate me if I told you mine love watching "Joe Dirt" with their Uncles? It has become a family tradition.
