So I've been having these stomach pains...
For like a week now.
They're sharp and stabbing, knife-like pains just below my ribs.
Not kidney stones, for sure (I've had those and would KNOW if it was that.)
But I hadn't gone to the doctor. Because, hello? Knowing me, it would simply be "bowel issues." (I seriously didn't want to make an appointment, only to have them tell me, "Yeah, you need to poop.")
(Sorry for the oversharing of info there.)
Anyway, this morning, I woke up with the stabbing pains and they really never quit. But I made it to work (doubled-over) and lasted about 3 hours (such a dedicated employee am I) before I called my doctor.
So I just got home from my doctor's office. Had x-rays and bloodwork done there. Short answer? It may likely be gallstones. What am I, an 85-year old? Jeez. The x-ray showed "calcification deposits" (or something like that) in my "upper right quadrant".
I have to call tomorrow morning to get results of the bloodwork (which will indicate my white blood cell levels and/or how seriously out of whack I am) and then schedule an ultrasound for a more definitive answer.
Now I kinda wish it was just a Poop Thing.
