Out of the Loop

Can you sense me twitching from here?

No computer at home. It's being repaired. *deep breath*

Which means: No e-mails, no Facebook. *supressed sob* (I can blog and read blogs while here at work though - score!)

Stayed home in the Trenches yesterday with all 3 boyz while Eldest is on the mend. I was AMAZED at how much I got done during the day because I didn't have the lure of the computer to distract me: cleaning, snuggling, laundry, numerous games of old-school Battleship with Eldest...

*light bulb moment as I typed that*

How much time do I spend waste on the computer? *gasp!* How many of my precious minutes are spent escaping real life, focused instead on nothing but the screen in front of me?

It's not good, people. Not good.

Anyway, I'm off to the beach for Girls Weekend 2008 with my gals for some much needed relaxation and laughs. And you can bet your ass that a daily plethora of cocktails will be involved!

North Myrtle Beach or Bust!

(Pic taken this summer when we went on family vacay. Needless to say, the trip this weekend will involve less mini-golf and MANY MORE HOURS of shopping. And no chicken nuggets.)

I've been trying to push myself away from my computer, as well. Enjoy your trip!

I completely agree. I am a much more productive mommy/person when my computer is off. Really makes one think, doesn't it?

have a FANTASTIC weekend!!

Time away from the kids = Good for the soul (and by extension, the kids).

I don't want to know how many wasted hours. It's my window to the world! The snarky, unhappy, gossipy world.

Enjoy your time away! your commentary on wasting time just reminded me that I need to shut off the computer and get some stuff done while all the kids are at school!

Baby steps, right? ;)

I am coming to this same realization lately. The computer is sucking my life away. Have a wonderful time!!!

I worry about this too, sometimes it is nice to turn it off, and just enjoy your life at home without the computer!

Have a great time at the beach!

Blogging at work - guilty!

Computer in the kitchen at home has caused for much more computer time than I used to do...I got us a cheap laptop at gainsaver.com...

What's worse that I spend time blogging when my son is home or that I tell him that I'm "working" so he'll let me? I have a serious addiction, but for now there's no Bloggers' Anonymous, so whatchagonnado?

I like your blog and completely understand the feeling of being tied to the computer. I tend to center my day around it and everything else is lucky if it gets done. I look forward to reading more of your stuff. BTW, I envy your Girls Weekend - that sounds like a blast!
