School Daze

For all you mothers with newborns, infants, or young children at home:

Some days the hours just seem to drag. The days pass by at a snail's pace. It feels to you like they will be babies forever. That you will forever be bound by the (oh so precious) naptimes. And the routine. And then sometimes you feel guilty that you're wishing their babyhood away, just wanting them to grow up, to crawl, to walk, to talk...

I know. That was me. A LOT.

I'm here to tell you that it DOES GET EASIER.

And although it may seem that the days and weeks and even the months just crawl by...

The years?

They fly.

Fly, boyz, fly.

Awesome photos!

I totally understand the dragging days being over to fast. We are on school day number 4...yes I am pathetically counting them. I find myself missing summer.

I guess that's what September does. It makes us notice the passage of time. Thanks for the message from someone bound by those routines.

I've been so casual about the boys both being in school and focusing instead on having some alone time back.

Today we had a meet and greet at Kindergarten in preparation for Day 1 tomorrow and I walked around with goosebumps the entire day.

Sigh. They're kids now. No babies here either.

They do fly. I can't believe this will be next year, waving my oldest off to Kindergarten. *sigh*

Next year I'll be sending my oldest to MIDDLE SCHOOL! So, so hard to believe. Where are our little boys who we rocked to sleep and could get to smile just by looking at them?? Watching them grow up and get so big is just so bittersweet...

It's true. Bubba started kindergarten this year. It just melts my heart when I drop him off every day and he puts his hand up with his fingers splayed in his signature "wave" to me with the cheesy grin and crinkled eyes. Ahhh..

His stepbrothers and sister are in the same school with him this year. It makes me feel better that they are there to help him.

They grow up wayyy too fast. I'm potty training baby...another wtep away from babyhood. She'll be the next one waving bye at the school steps.

I could cry.
