Our Newest Purchase

Remember this from back in the spring?

I quote, "Seems Hubby and I can NOT agree. I like the single, swing door, fridge on top, with swing-door freezer on bottom; whereas Hubby likes the double door fridge on top, pull-out freezer drawer on bottom."

Well, yesterday, this was delivered to the Trenches:

Hubby 1; Wife 0. As you can see, I lost the battle. With grace and dignity, mind you. Actually, I gave in. Friends of ours have this same fridge and I grudgingly admitted that I actually didn't mind it. That was all Hubby needed to hear.

So he went shopping at the Sears Scratch & Dent Store (do you have those?) on a quest for this exact one. It's perfectly brand new, never been used. Has a dink on the right hand side (mostly covered by our cabinets) and one on the left at the bottom (completely covered by the boyz' shoe cubby). Bought it on Saturday and they delivered it on Sunday. AND took our old garage fridge away. For a savings of $600 less than if we had purchased directly from Sears!

If it were socially acceptable, I would totally make out with my brand new fridge.

You'll like the freezer on the bottom. It makes everything in the fridge really accessible.

$600? Wow! That's a steal!

I'm coming over to make out with it too, because I am in love. I think it's funny that this is how they started out, with the freezer on the bottom..and here we are swooning over them now. I love it, I want it.

What a fantastic deal! Makes me love it even more.

I'm cracking up because we call it a "ding" not a "dink." Potato/Potahto.

I'm in the middle of fridge hell with my two year old Kenmore stainless. The bottom shelf/arm thingy on the door keeps falling off causing all the salad dressing and tonic water to crash to the floor.

We have the same style fridge. I LOVE it! You'll get used to the freezer on the bottom. It's funny bc my 7yo saw a fridge w/ the freezer on top and thought it was weird! I told him that's how we did it in the "olden" days.

NICE fridge! And I understand about wanting alone time with the appliances. We overhauled our kitchen when we moved in (thank you Home Depot)...I've been in kitchen heaven ever since.

If you put two gigantic googley eyes on the top of each fridge door, you'd have a pretty awesome smiley face. Congrats on the new fridge!

I'm jealous. We have the side by side model, which is nice, but I'd love the extra room in the fridge area.

Love the Scratch & Dent stores! Seriously, who's ever going to see the back and/or side of a refrigerator?

And if it were socially acceptable, I myself would drape myself in velvet. ;-)

Maybe not a full makeout session, but I think it would be socially acceptable to lick it once or twice.

We've got a freezer-on-the-bottom fridge too. LOVE IT! Ours just has one humungo door on top, though, instead of the two. I totally think you could make out with it. I won't tell! :)

Mine's the freezer on the bottom too, but the big door on top. I do like it though. Mostly I like the deal you got! I haven't seen a Sears Surplus (as my mom used to call it) in years. That's so cool.
