I AM DONE CHANGING DIAPERS! (Notice the Seinfeld reference in the title? Well, right now I'm doing the Elaine dance.) Baby became fully potty-trained in a matter of days. I swear it, you guys.
Get this though: I have had been changing diapers for over 6-1/2 years.
That's oh...approximately 2,400 days. (Yep, I'm a dork and I added it up.) In a row.
And, in 2004, when Middle was born, both Eldest and Middle were in diapers that summer. Then, a year later, in the summer of '05 when Baby was born, both Middle and Baby were in diapers.
Of course, I'm not so naive to think that we will actually see any savings now that we are a diaper-free Trenches. Oh no.
It's called PRESCHOOL PAYMENTS. And FOOD. *sigh*
So what's your number? How many days/years--in a row--have you changed diapers (not counting just a diaper or Pullup at bedtime)?
Anyone ever have, dare I ask, 3 in diapers at once? (Bless your soul.)

It will be 7- 1/2 years in a month ... and there's no end in sight. Do I win a prize or something? :)
I have been changing diapers since 2003 on my own children. However I worked in daycare with toddlers since 1998, that should count for something.
I had 2 in diapers for a short time, never 3 of my own. My 6 year old was trained around 2.5 years old over a weekend! NICE!
My youngest is interested but doesn't go on the potty nearly as much as he goes on the floor.
Let's see, I changed my first diaper December 25, 2001. And that lasted until April 2008, when Moe finally stopped wearing diapers to bed (but technically, I'd just put it on, she'd take it off and throw it away). At one point, I did have three in diapers (when Moe was born, Meenie was 15 months and Einey was 33 months - thankfully, that only lasted 3 months). Most of the time, it was one or two kids in diapers.
My 3 are spaced so that I must start over each time with a whole new diaper-changing round. No overlap.
Diapers may be the one and only thing about my last baby that I won't be sorry to see go.
Maybe...
Just about 7 years for us! Wait until you become sippy cup free, and car seat free...It is like heaven! We jsut have one left in a booster and she can buckle herself and everything...I love saying get in the car and they do!!!!
Congratulations on your new found freedom!
Me !!! -- 3 kids in a mere 20 months -- (twins first...) I don't miss those days.
Bubba was potty trained fully 6 months before baby was born. He was EASY also! We are just starting with her. By starting, I mean I have considered buying an insert or potty seat. No actualy attempts have been made.
My poor friend had 4 in diapers. She had her first, then a year later, she had twins, and less than a year later she had another!!! All boys, too! After that, I think she figured out what causes it, and they took a baby break.
Did the diaper thing for just under three years, took a 2 year hiatus, then jumped back into the thick of it (so to speak)...STILL working on it at 3.5 years. This second one is going to marry his diapers, I tell ya.
Although - he did tell me last night that when this round of diapers are gone, he's not going to need any more. I'll believe it when I see it.
I've been going five years with at least two in diapers at the same time.
I had two in diapers and one in an overnight/going out in public Pull Up. So I don't count myself as a tri- diaper.
Enjoy your freedom! Just think now you can get rid of the enormous diaper bag that's been your main accessory for 2,400 days.
I am jealous!!! I am hoping to have #2 daytime PT before #3 is born in September- will be a nice break!
We sort of lucked out on the diaper front - older came out of diapers just around the same time younger was born, which was both convenient and financially handy. If we had to do it all over again I would opt for the same sort of timing! (If I didn't slit my wrists first...) From my lofty five years post-diaper perch, I welcome you to the no more diapers club!
Congratulations!!! I am so jealous. I'm hoping this time next year we'll be diaper free too.
Congrats! I'm hoping to be only changing a newborns diaper by the time September comes around, but my littlest one is a very stubborn girl. I was too lucky with my oldest, she stopped with the diapers right when her sister came home, so I've never changed more than one babies diapers before.
Congrats Congrats!!! That is HUGE. So far I am 'almost' diaper free. I am so close, I just need the nighttime to finish up & then I am good. But then baby 3 comes. So I might be right there with you lady. It's such an amazing feeling. I feel giddy already for you!
1474 days and counting. I added it up too. And I am jealous. But not too jealous. I want Clara's not even 2 and I want her to stay my baby a little bit longer.
YAY for you! I just posted about this very subject the other day. We've changed diapers for 7 years and 3 months straight, several months with 2 in them at the same time. I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. My littlest is showing a lot of interest. Fingers crossed that we'll be done by September so he can begin pre-school.
Congratulations!! :)
A vertible mountain of diapers! Hooray!! It's over!!!!
I never counted how many. But my record of years is four in a row. Then I took a two year break and did it for another 22 months or so...just for kicks.
11 years!! 4,015 days. I have at least 4 more years to go. Yay me.
CONGRATULATIONS ON NO MORE DIAPERS!!
I'm so jealous. I only have 1 now, but at 3 years almost 3 months, this child WILL NOT go on the potty. He did for 2 months, then decided he wants no part of it. Looks like I'll be attending his high school graduation with wipes and an extra pull up in my purse!
2,020 days and counting, with about six month of that being double duty. RC turned 3 on April 25th and we're trying in earnest now.
God, I hate potty training. It's like letting a puppy loose in your living room.
