PMS Goldilocks

Let me just preface this post by saying that I'm expecting my period any second.

This morning I felt like Goldilocks as I searched in my closet for just the "right" pair of khakis to wear to work (Casual Friday! But no denim allowed.)

I own 7 pairs of khakis. (Why? How many do you have?) All of them are either Gap or Old Navy, plus one pair I got from Target.

The first pair was Too Tight.
The second pair was Too Short.
The third pair was Too Loose.
The next pair was Too Hard To Find the Right Shirt To Go With.
The next pair was Too Out of Style.
The next pair was Too Dirty (oops).
And the last pair was Too Muffin-Toppy.

At that point I was ready to start breaking chairs like Goldilocks did.

I ended up putting 3 pairs in a pile to get rid of. I'm over them.

Needless to say, on this Casual Friday, I am wearing regular work pants and am NOT happy about it.

What are your favorite khakis? Where did you buy them?

Now please excuse me while I go eat some porridge covered in chocolate and sprinked with salty potato chips...

They are a bit pricier, but, my favorite pants are always from Banana Republic. They have a few styles you can identify by name. I know I can always count on "Martin" fitting me well. I have a pair of khaki's I bought over 4 years ago that still fit me well and are classic enough that they don't go out of style.

Oh I don't have any Khakis I like right now but I did try on some great wide leg ones at the Gap the other day. This post was very funny.

Banana Republic - Martin fit. They are hands down the best work khakis I've ever worn. For truly casual khakis, I'd vote Old Navy or J.Jill.

BANANA BANANA! Banana Republic my friend. You.will.not.be.sorry.

I'm an Old Navy gal, myself. They fit me correctly, and aren't crazy-expensive.

I've been going through my closet lately, and everything has been too big, too big, too big. Weight loss is good, but no clothes is bad. Especially since we're trying to jump right back on the weight gain ladder again, but with maternity clothes... so I don't dare buy anything new.

Except whatever I'll need in Florida and Jamaica in TWO WEEKS. Eeek.

I have a few banana pairs and jcrew too.

You might also want to try Ann Taylor Loft. Like Banana, they have three different fits (slim, original, curvy), in regular and petite.

Also recently got a dressier khaki pant at the Gap and I would wear them every day if possible.

I have a pair of old-lady khakis - Liz Claiborne...great for the bloated days because they're all pleated and stuff. My "good" khakis are a pair of capris from Kohl's - their brand...love those things.

I have this same conversaton every morning only with jeans--specifically love the too muffin-toppy comment (which I always save with a longer shirt or tunic; thank god for tunics). I have NO idea what I would do if I wasn't allowed to wear jeans to work.
Love the goldilocks pic--Friday sexy!

Eddie Bauer. I can't remember the fit, but it's the lower rise one. They are one of the few places I can order from who carry petites...!

on casual fridays (also no denim) at school i wear these khaki cords i got cheap at kohls. LOVE THEM. I usually pair them with a long sleeved tee with the school emblem on it or some other casual top. yay kohls! always on sale!

This is me every single day. I LOVE it when they are too loose. I happily toss those to the side. Too tight makes me mad. I never have the too short problem because I am short. However I have tried on capris that looked more like highwater pants. Sigh.

I don't like capris that are too wide in the leg. I prefer them fitted at the leg. For the life of me I don't remember the brand, but I'm pretty sure I got them at Kohl's.

J. Crew- the favorite fit chinos or the new buttery twills. They're fabulous.

You have to stop shopping at Gap and Old Navy. They are evile in how they size clothes. BOYCOTT!

I like Ann Taylor-a lot. I also like Nordstrom. We are grown ups now-we must dress like it!

I hate PMS. I am actually going to have surgery soon so that I never have a period again-not a hysterectomy though. I am so happy about that.

I have pared down my khaki-filled closet, and only kept ones I loved and really fit.
1 pair - Banana Republic
2 pairs - J Crew

Old Navy is seriously for wee, little girls.

The J. or BR - It may cost more, but you will have the khakis for years and they will still look, fit and make you feel good!

You are just flat out funny. Thanks for making me chuckle while I am down and out sick. (PS-Old Navy...only)

I have no khakis. But if I did, they'd be from Talbots. Talbots is the only brand of slacks, jeans, etc. that I can buy right off the rack. And apparently at Talbots, I wear a size smaller than at Nordstom, or any other store for that matter.

Best khakis...a freakin' myth. All khakis lose all sense of shape, style or hope of flattering the figure after exactly one washing. Blech, a pox on khakis makers. Or perhaps it's the three successive pregnancies keeping my body in a constant state of evolution.

I had a pair of kick ass North Face clam diggers...

This is why I don't buy khakis. Something always happens between the last time you wear them and the next time you dig them out of your closet.

I know what a pain not having any clothes that fit right can be and to think of it. I threw out all my old pants last month.
