A Plea for Help

Oh, wise Internet, please show me the way.

Remember how I wanted this bedding from Pottery Barn? Yeah, well, it's GONE (and I suck for procrastinating.) No longer available. Not in stores. Not online. Not even on eBay!

So any advice as to where I can get my hands on a Pottery Barn Queen-Size Duncan Stripe Duvet Cover?

And any ideas as to why the a-holes at Pottery Barn advertise something in their catalog in January, and then it's completely GONE with an "oh, too bad for you" in less than a month?

(You know how it is when you find something you want? I've been searching for new bedding for years now. Years. THIS IS THE ONE.)

That is so frustrating!!

How about calling up some Pottery Barn Outlet (I don't even know where their locations are, if you have one near you, etc.) and asking if they have it?

I have no useful information on how to get this bedding, but you have GREAT taste! I love it!!

I'd go with the outlet and keep checking eBay - maybe Overstock.com as well...

I bet it will turn up on Ebay...just give it a while!

My first thought is that it will turn up on eBay eventually. Second, very occasionally the Williams-Sonoma outlet in Wrentham will have Pottery Barn bedding overstock. Third, I'd try calling PB customer service (they're not always most helpful) and asking them to do a nationwide store search. Good luck, it's a cute duvet.

EBAY! You'll find it eventually and it will be cheaper!

Check eBay or one of the outlets. I know there is one near me in Leesburg, VA. I found a PB duvet and shams on eBay (new in package) when I was lusting after them long after they were sold out.

Agreed on eBay...that's probably your best bet. When you search it search for misspellings too. I've found things that way.

That happened with some dinosaur sheets that I wanted and the store by me randomly restocked them a few months later.

Oooooh-oooh-oooh! I know someone! One of my readers works at a PB - she might have the inside scoop. It's Little Miss Sunshine State. She posted a comment on my last post, if you want to link to her from there. I think it's just blogspot, though, if that's easier. Good luck! It's cute!

Oh man, I wish I could help you! I'm sure as everyone else said that it'll show up on ebay eventually. I have a similar problem on my hands. My 2 1/2 year old twins have blankets in their cribs that I bought on babystyle. They discontinued them not long after... and my boys have become insanely attached to them!! I'm dreading the day when they start shredding to bits and i have no replacement!!

From the PB Insider: When it says Catalog/Internet only in the catalog you'll never see it or find it in a store.

The catalogs are printed up a few months in advance and it's kind of impossible to know if something will be in short supply. Especially at the end of the season. Duncan was a winter item. The Feb catalog has all the Spring bedding already.

Also, store inventory and catalog inventory are actually two separate beasts. Same company-different divisions.

I would say the outlet or eBay will be your best bet. Are you near Wrentham? Call and ask if they have it. Keep calling,we just did inventory last week. The winter stuff may be hitting the outlet.

I have the same problem: saw it, loved it, moved too slow. The PB customer service person said, "that was gone in a blink." But there are several on ebay now and the bidding is lively. I'm not willing to pay $300+ for it, but someone is.
