Welcome to my birth month! Commence the celebrations. (I turn 35 in one week.)

So yeah, the fruit flush...

I ended up losing 2-1/2 pounds in the past 3 days. I'm sure it's a combo of water weight and my cycle, but actually, since I started counting calories, I've lost 8 pounds! (Mostly in back fat. That's the only place I notice a difference.) So I probably won't do the fruit flush diet again unless I'm desperate for a quick fix. Writing down my calories and keeping it between 1,000-1,200 has been what has really worked. But the main thing is? I feel better. Sis and I are signing up for a 15K race (9.3 miles) in the beginning of April. That will surely start our running season off with a bang limp.

Hmmm...what else?

I'm getting my haircut and colored tomorrow. Wiping out the grays and hoping for something CUTE. For some reason, my hairdresser (who is really awesome and fun and hip and stylish) insists on long layers for me. Which I get. Because my head? Is exceptionally small. I'm not kidding. I can wear Eldest's ball caps. Comfortably. So I understand that my hair needs layers to frame my small mug. However? Half the time, I feel like I have a mullet. NOT CUTE. So I need to figure out how to gently break it to my girl that she needs to come up with something new for me--stat. So we'll see how THAT goes...

And then tomorrow afternoon, I have Eldest has a first playdate with another mother classmate. The mother called last week and invited Eldest over. Meaning I have to bring him to "get to know" this other mother. How do you all do this? Is it awkward? Do I stay the entire time? Should I bring cookies? Gah.

And then Sunday there's a big Superbowl Bash in the Trenches! We only throw a party when the Patriots are in the Superbowl. Meaning this will be our fourth shindig since 2001. Lots of food, booze and, oh yeah, children. (Apparently no one gave a lesson on birth control to the alumni of Hubby's college alma mater, because everyone has multiple children.)

And then (how many times can I type "and then?") next Friday is my birthday. Hubby and I are staying in Boston for two nights. We have birthday dinner reservations here. Needless to say, I will NOT be counting calories that weekend...and I'm hoping to get this new bedding as a birthday present (we've had the same bedding since we got married almost 9 years ago. It's time, right?) So Pottery Barn gift certificates are always welcome here.

Here's to February!

About the playdates - especially with the first one, I just realize I'm probably staying for the duration - even with my 8 year old. That doesn't mean I do, but I make sure I'm available to stay just in case the other mom seems to be missing a few pieces upstairs or if she seems to expect me to stay anyway. Usually, if they are comfortable with you leaving they'll say something like, "why don't we let them play for (insert amount of time) and you can come pick him up around (insert time)?" If I don't know the family or the kid, I definitely want to make sure I'm around for a little bit just to get a feel for where my child will be for the afternoon, you know?

Happy birth month! :-)

So friend, your designer approves of the new bedding.

BTW-your b-day gift will be late, but so worth the wait! Can I ship it to your office?

The first thing I thought when I met you?

"She seems nice but her head is freakishly small. How can I be friends with someone's whose head is so tiny?"

Congrats on all of your weight loss! I'm at a holding point right now at 12 lbs even with the flush. grrrr. My results are not the same this week. Probably cycle related as well.

I just had more layers cut in my hair a few days ago. I'm having it colored tomorrow. Yes, 2 separate appointments. Why? Because it's 2 uninterrupted breaks from my chaos, I mean kids. :)

Happy (early) birthday. :) It sounds like you have some fun things planned. I LOVE the bedding. I got new sheets Wednesday. (are we on a weird parallel thing here?)

We're having a superbowl party here, too, as is most of Phoenix, since it is HERE this year!!!! (I will NOT be counting calories either)

Oh weight loss. Blegh. I am regrouping and starting again on Monday after a couple weeks off of the new years diet. I think I am only down like 5 lbs now. Phooey. Yay for the loss of backfat. That's a reason to celebrate right there.

You know if you weren't already planning on having TWO WHOLE NIGHTS AWAY FROM YOUR CHILDREN. I am positively green.

Happy Birthday month friend. The bedding is gorgeous.

Happy Birthday! I've also been fighting the grey but can't quite bring myself to throw real money at it yet. I haven't heard of RuthsChris before but I'm near Boston so - maybe for the next aniversary. Enjoy your big day.

The first time my oldest did the whole get together with a kid from school thing, I was a bit stressed beforehand too. However, I showed up and she pulled out Grey Goose and cosmo mix and invited me to stay for burgers. We're great friends now! All that stress for nothing!
