The Fruit Flush 3-Day Diet

Fruit Flush for fat loss--do the 3-day detox once a week for up to 12weeks. This will have you cleansing and revitalizing your body 3 out of 7 days each week for up to 12 straight weeks.

Fruit Flush for life--once or twice a month for your lifetime.

Fruit Flush tune-up--if you've slipped off your diet and/or have been eating the wrong foods, then fruit flush to get back on target.

Fruit Flush for a fresh start--prior to beginning any new exercise or eating program/way of life.

How To Perform the Fruit Flush:

You MUST get a whey or egg white protein powder that does NOT contain any of the following: Aspartame, fructose, sucrose, evaporated cane juice, sucralose, maltodextrin, sugar, corn syrup, corn sweeteners, barley malt, molasses, agave, brown sugar, casein, calcium caseinate, sodium caseinate, acesulfame-K, acesulfame potassium, artificial flavors and/or colors.
The protein powder MUST be approximately 24 grams of protein per ounce serving.
(I bought my vanilla whey protein powder at Wal-Mart in the vitamin section.)

Mix 1-1/4 cup of whey or egg protein powder with 1qt (32oz) pure water. Shake, blend, or stir, and store in a sealed container in a cool place. Before pouring each glass of protein as outlined below, lightly shake or stir the container to re-mix the protein drink. (I made my 32oz drink the night before and let it sit in the refrigerator overnight to ensure that it would be fully blended--not chunky--yuck--before I started drinking it.)

8am...6oz glass of protein mix
6pm...3-6c raw vegetable salad and 3-6oz of lean chicken, fish, turkey, or beef. Top the salad with 1-2tbs olive OR flax seed oil (or 1/2 avocado) and the juice of 1/2 lemon or lime;
OR scramble 4-8 egg whites in 1tsp olive oil. (I made a salad with bagged lettuce and topped it with tomatos, cukes and green peppers. I totally cheated and used red wine vinegarette dressing (low cal) instead of the disgusting mixture of olive oil and lemon/lime juice.)

NOTE: Drink an 8-12oz glass of water one hour after you consume each protein drink or meal. (if this doesn't quench your thirst, you may consume more water.) (I drank water all throughout the day.)

*Yesterday was Day 1 for me. For as much as I bitched about being hungry, it really wasn't that bad. The protein drink is oddly filling, which I didn't expect.
Oh, and since I'm addicted to caffeine, I also consumed 2 diet sodas during the day.

Days 2 and 3: FRUIT FLUSH
8am...1 serving fresh fruit
6pm....3-6c raw vegetable salad. Top the salad with 1-2tbs olive OR flax seed oil (or 1/2 avocado) and the juice of 1/2 lemon or lime.
ALSO, consume 1 protein drink mixed, as follows:
12oz pure water mixed with 5tbs high-quality whey or egg white protein powder. Stir and drink slowly.
*Since I'm not that crazy about the protein drink, for Days 2 and 3, my plan is to forgo the drink and add grilled chicken to the top of my salad again.

NOTE: Drink an 8-12oz glass of water one hour after you consume each fruit meal. (You may drink more water if need be.)

FRESH FRUIT SERVING SIZES FOR REFERENCE: (these are the suggested 1 servings)

apples...2 medium
medium banana...1
medium blackberries...1.5 cups
blueberries..1.5 cups
cantaloupe...2 cups
cubed cherries...1 cup
grapefruits...2 large
grapes...1 cup (or 15-18 grapes)
honeydew...2 cups cubed
kiwifruits...2 medium
mango...1 large or 2 small
nectarines...2 small
oranges...2 medium
peaches...3 medium
pears...1 medium
pineapple...1 cup
plums...3 medium
strawberries...2 cups
tomatoes...4 medium
watermelon...2 cups(cubed or balled)

During the entire 3 days you should become slightly hungry every 2 hours, at which time you will eat. The eating pattern fuels your body and keeps you from ever being overly hungry.
On day 1, the series of protein drinks will stoke your metabolism, lower your glycogen levels and force your body to burn fat as part of its energy needs. On days 2 and 3, fruit will power your body while cleansing and purifying the cells and organs. Plus, the protein drinks and fresh fruit are high in water content, which, in turn, will help keep your system hydrated.

Many thanks to Robin at The Davis Gang for posting about this diet and writing about her own experiences with it. She's had great success!

Can I just skip all that and eat pop tarts?

I don't even mind if they're poinky.

OR - you could just eat less. (Which is code for, that sounds dreadfully complicated, not sure I can be bothered, somebody pass me that tub of mayo please...)

Is it wrong that I think "Fruit Flush" sounds like polite code for diarrhea?

Either way, this sounds way more appealing then the cabbage soup cleansing diet. Good luck!

You did this to yourself on purpose?

That's it, I'm having a Twinkie in your honor.

I made the mistake of foregoing caffeine the first day, and threw up after a nasty migraine. It was probably very smart to have the diet soda.

The reason I got through the diet so well last week is substituting low cal dressing for the disgusting olive oil mixture. Avocado wasn't that much better. I figured it was lower fat than the olive oil, and the calorie content was also low.

And like you, I also skipped the protein drink on day 2 and 3, and put chicken on my salad. :)

I was going to take a week off this week, but reading your blog made me change my mind again. :) I'll be drinking the protein drink all day tomorrow. Week 3 was easier than 1 and 2, so I expect 4 will be a breeze.

I have to agree, for just a 6 oz drink, it is filling. Thank GOODNESS it's only 6 oz!!!

I hope you have good results!

Wow this flush surely requires a lot of fruit work. But in the name of weight loss and good health, I wouldn't mind getting a daily load of fibers, vitamins and minerals from fruits and vegetables. I use a few tablespoons of milled flax seed regularly on my oatmeal and smoothie and it does work great as a weight loss supplement due to its dietary fibers. Meanwhile, Omega 3 nutrients help me resolve metabolic issue while keeping my heart and cardiovascular system healthy and strong.
