A Flair for the Dramatic

Even though the Trenches is overflowing with testosterone, there's a(nother) drama queen (besides me) vying for the my crown.

It's Baby.

From Thanksgiving to Christmas, his speech has exploded. Full sentences. Using words and phrases in their correct context. Asking "why?" with every other breath.

And to think I was once worried. Oh, silly me!

I took him shopping for new sneakers. When I asked him what kind he wanted (assuming he'd respond with Elmo or Thomas the Train), he matter-of-factly replied, "Nikes."

When we were driving in the car, I couldn't quite decipher what he was demanding when he repeatedly chanted, "Nick-oh-bak". Yeah, it was the Nickelback song "Rock Star."

But his latest phrases, uttered repeatedly throughout the day, are:

"I hug-ry"
"I thirsty"
"I vewy seek"
"I have bewwy ache"

These words are spoken with a dramatic, whiny flair, to the point where I'm fully expecting him to press the back of his hand up to his forehead, flutter his eyelashes, and fan himself a la Scarlett O'Hara style.

He's quickly becoming The Boy Who Cried Wolf. Is he really hungry/thirsty/sick? Doubtful.

Is he too stinkin' cute?
Definitely.

it's ALWAYS the cute ones that are the biggest stinkers

Boys... sometimes I think they are WAY more dramatic than girls. Today my 'youngest' threw himself on the floor in front of the garage door because he wanted a screwdriver. Then proceeded to stand there for 15 minutes with the full lower lip out and pretending to be injured. What a joke!

First, you are right he is stinkin cute.
Second, I am glad to hear that he has gone through a language explosion. Gives me hope. My 18 month old still doesn't talk with only a Mama, Dada and noooo to his list of words. His doctor has told me not to worry.

We'll need to keep him and Chicky separate. We don't need two drama queens in such close proximity.

Well, at least I love it in others' kids!

Aww cute!!!!

While we were in the car last night, Angry Toddler was eating goldfish.

He then said, "Delicious".

Angry Husband asked him, "Caden what did you say?" He said, "Daddeee, these are delicious goldfish".

I was laughing soo hard, I started crying. My son is 2 and a 1/2.

He is precious..even in that EVILE jersey. It is fun when they start talking until they start talking BACK. Enjoy the brief joy!
