Singin' in the Snow?

When you think of using an umbrella, what type of weather do you imagine?

Rain, right?

So why do I see so many people in downtown Boston huddled under their umbrellas as they're rushing to get Somewhere in the middle of a snowstorm?

Really, the umbrella usage is quite rampant here these days. Seriously.

Maybe it's just me...but when I see it snowing outside, I think: Boots? Check. Scarf? Check. Gloves? Check. Hat? Check. Time to move south? Check.

Not, "Damn, better grab the umbrella so I don't get pelted with those light and fluffy snowflakes."

I'll admit to using an umbrella when I get caught in the snow unexpectedly and don't have a coat with a hood (I'm not straightening this hair for nothing) but I'll also admit to feeling like a freak for doing so.

LMAO. I live in the desert. We don't even see snow. And rarely see umbrellas. I just love the visual though. My kids don't even own gloves, hats, scarves or heavy jackets. I know they'd love to see the snow. I miss it...but only for one day. After a day, and a few feet, it's a nuisance.

I admit I have used an umbrella occasionally here in the Twin Cities. But only when I'm going someplace that causes me to give a tiny rat's butt about how I look and how the humidity affects my not-straight-but-not-curly hair.

I'm also from Los Angeles. So, clearly, I was not made for this type of living.

These have to be all transplants. I grew up in MA and have NEVER used an umbrella. When I first moved to the South, I LAUGHED when I saw people using an umbrella in the snow. SHake it off, people!
