Oh, To Be Rainman

Because just like Matchbox cars, Halloween loot can also be sorted and lined up.

I swear, Eldest has saved me from gaining (an additional) 10 pounds. He knows exactly how many pieces of candy are in his damn treat bag at all times. Today we're down to 76, in case you were wondering.

Oh, see, this is exactly my problem - I always envy all those moms who say they steal their kids' candy. That would never fly around here; they've got them sorted and charted and meal-planned.

This is the coolest thing ever!
DAMN I wish my kids would care more about their candy. BUT NO, instead I have the kids who want to share every single piece of candy they put in their little mouths! Aside from the weight gain, what really sucks is they are still young and don't know the good candy from the bad candy. I always get stuck with a bite of those peanut butter chews.

SB did this too! And then given that he had the day after Halloween off, I had him make a bar graph showing the 5 most popular candies (yeah, yeah, I know, it's the former teacher in me).

I love it. I love his serious, don't-mess-with-me expression.

LOVE it.

I hate to point out my own obsessive-compulsive disorderly behavior, but I'm looking carefully at that shot, and it really bothers me that there's something green between a couple boxes of Dots and the Starburst are EVERYWHERE. And... oh, no... your kid did this to me on purpose, didn't he?

No shit, Briar will wake up in the middle of the night, sensing that her blanket is not totally smooth and extending to the bottom of her bed, "Mom, come fix my blanket!"

It's those dang schools, man! They teach 'em that sorting. Okay, that's not true. My eldest did the same. Rainman. Good caption.

I have a picture from like, 1978 of my sister doing the EXACT SAME THING with her Easter candy!

Hilarious.

Ha! I have the same picture of my 5 year old the day after Halloween. His Kindergarten homework was to count his candy!
Cute!

I wish mine would count theirs. Then I wouldn't eat it!
