I'm awarding this September Perfect Post Award to Candace at not that i don't love my kids... for her post of perfection entitled "can you fit in my box?"
In it, Candace tackles the mommy caste system and surmises that she doesn't just simply fit the mold of one particular mommy stereotype. And who does? Certainly not moi.
Yeah, I'm not a SAHM. I fully admit that I love the balance of my work and home life. It works for me.
Yeah, I shop at The Gap. But I also love me some Tar-jay and Wal-Fart. And while I'd love to be able to attire the boyz exclusively in high-end name brands, you know what? Target brands work for me.
Yeah, I drive a Yukon. It's a freakin' gas guzzler that's a bit tedious to maneuver (as evidenced by some *cough* banged-up mailboxes), but we have 3 children in carseats and it works for us.
Yeah, I'm laid-back. Having 3 does that to a gal. I'm simply outnumbered. If I freaked over every little spill, fight or boo-boo, you'd soon find me in a straitjacket with drool running down my chin. So I don't sweat the small stuff. It works for me.
You get my point.
We're all mothers. We're in this together.
As Candace points out, we should instead "really start to celebrate our differences."
