Because Eldest a/k/a "Rainman", as well as knowing the batting stance and quirks (have you ever seen Coco Crisp's twitching while in the batter's box inevitably getting ready to make an out?) of every Red Sox player, also knows the way every player on the New England Patriots roster wears their football helmet.
Apparently, Randy Moss wears his gloves attached to his helmet when he's not on the field.
So that's what Hubby is doing for Eldest in this pic.

Hey, no judgment here. We all have our "things."
I used to be fascinated by Nomar doing his little OCD dance on home plate before each pitch.

love it. i swear kids seem amaze me, the details they recall. maybe kids should be running the country
Coco Crisp, Nomaaaaah, and Craig Counsel all have very specific batting rituals...I'm fascinated.
As for Eldest, his brilliant mind will take him places.
Wow, smart boy. I've got to assume, though, that it's hard to see.
I love it! Now if you could only get Manny's batting helmet!

Oh, you have Randy Moss now!! :)
We used to watch him do his thang with the Vikes.
How cute. Nomar used to kill me with that glove ritual. But I loved him anyway...
I am looking forward to the day when mine can start sports...
quirks are fun!
Sarah - I've been reading since I figured out about the running - and it took me this long to notice that our kids are pretty close to the same ages. Seriously - what's up with my brain. Anyway, instead of eldest, middle and baby, though, I call mine "6", "4" and "2". (Creative, I know) Sometimes I call 4 "tortured middle daughter."
And that helmet thing is pretty adorable.
How DO boys and men retain such minutiae, and yet they can't remember to flush the toilet?
Don't you just love seeing your husband and boys together doing "guy" stuff? It makes my heart melt every time.
Ha! I just posted on my blog...what it means to be a red sox fan....
Love the picture!
