*No, I didn't wear my hair down to run. I had it up in a ponytail. I took it out as soon as we were finished because I have a zit on the back of my neck. Sweet, I know.
*Sis looked WAY more like a real runner than I did. She's hard core, man.
We did it! Sis and I completed the Ryka Iron Girl 5-mile Event this morning. I'm hooked. It was awesome. We finished with smiles on our faces and a real sense of pride (did that make you cringe? Reading it now, I'm shuddering. It sounds so hokey. But I'm too tired to edit). Our goal, well my goal, really, was to finish at 50 minutes (for a 10-minute mile pace). Sis was thinking more along the lines of 48 minutes (she likes to dream big that way).
Our time?
45:20!
And I didn't even PIMMAL!
Bring on the Boston (Half) Marathon.
Gag.

Awesome!! Congrats to you and your sis for finishing with such a great time!
Way to go! You rock, I can barely do a mile or two!
I'm impressed by you! And disgusted by my couch sitting self.
Rock on !!! that is awesome, nothing is better than beating the time you wanted to do !! was the weather perfect ?
Congratulations!
I'm exhausted just thinking about it.
Did I mention your posts had motivated me and I actually went running last week? Granted it was on a treadmill because it's still 100+ degrees here, but still.
Then I got the flu. Any correlation? Just to be sure, I'd better take this week off running.
Wow. I am kinda in awe right now.
Seeing as how I doubt I could trot even to my mailbox.
You so inspire me.
I'm so proud of you, friend! You're a rock star!
I am seriously impressed. I am trying to transition from power walking (I can do about 4 miles in 55 mins if I'm really booking it) to running, but my body just does not like running. You'd think, since I'm like...almost running, it wouldn't be a big deal, but I swear...after about 3 minutes of running, I'm about ready to pass out.
Congrats on your race! Again, I am seriously impressed!
Congratulations!!!!!! I just signed up to do a 5k in October...UGH!!!!
You rock! That is nothing short of AWESOME!
Congratulations.
It seems like they really made it into an exciting time. I love the medals you got! Great bonding experience for you and your sis, too! Awesome job!

I forget what PIMMAL means, but YAY you! (I've heard that your times are always better in races because of the adrenaline, etc., but that is awesome. Good for you. Now 13 will seem like a piece o' cake. heh heh.)

You guys look great, especially after running five miles. Tell me truthfully, did you guys primp before you took this pic?
