Blogiversary

One year ago today I started this blog. I had been lurking at and around Jen's blog, Seersucker Stories, for a few months. (A little bit of past history for ya: Jen and her twin sis Beth grew up with Hubby in MA; Jen was there the very first time Hubby and I ever met (!)--in Charlotte, NC at dinner.)

So I decided to take the plunge and start my own blog. I stayed "in the closet" for quite some time though. I had no idea then how to hyperlink, add pictures or utilize the strikethrough function that I am so addicted to fond of now!

As I became more confident in my writing abilities, I started telling family and friends and sending them the link to this blog. Hubby was concerned about internet stalkers and pervs...and the fact that I was writing about him.

He still moans and groans every now and then ("Did you have to write that I slept naked?"; "I simply just answered you. Now I'm getting bashed by all your commenters!"), yet I'd like to think I know he's pretty proud of me. As a matter of fact, he sent me this e-mail in regards to this post I wrote: "Well, I have to give you credit for your blog yesterday. I just read it. Excellent."

Anyway, I had no idea how immense the blogging community truly is. Or how caring. I never realized that I would cheer on (she was my first commenter!), cry alongside, laugh with, idolize, emulate and admire so many women whom I have never met yet to meet!

But I do. And will continue to do so.
