Today, By the Numbers

# of sick boyz: 3
Eldest--102 degree fever since yesterday afternoon, throwing up since 5:30a.m. this morning.
Baby--raging diarrhea, teething, starting Terrible Twos.
Middle--General Rottenness, starting Tortuous Threes.

# of days before I get my period: 3
Need I say more? No. Oh, but I will...

# of times I went to the bathroom alone today: 0

# of time outs given: 2

# of idle threats bellowed: at least 15

# of times I threatened Middle that I was ripping up our tickets to Edaville Railroad: 3
(see above).

# of degrees outside: 85 with about 100% humidity, thus adding to the general miserableness In the Trenches today.

# of times I schlepped up to the 120 degree garage attic to lug down shit valuable merchandise for the neighborhood yard sale tomorrow: 12

# on the clock when I uncorked the wine: 4:45

# of days until we board a plane out of Boston at 5:40 a.m. (yes, Hubby and I are absolutely insane) to get out of the Trenches to go to Myrtle Beach on "vacation" (because it's not a REAL vacation with the kids in tow, right?): 11

# of times I felt like I was losing it today: immeasurable.

Here's hoping that the "sun'll come out Tomorrow..."

Oh no, what a shitty day!!! I'm sorry! Must be something in the air, my kids had a rough week too, and I resorted to 'special' tea in the afternoon myself!

I'm so sorry...sounds like you had a really crappy day. I will try to forecast some "sunshine" for you...

Trust that in these moments of sticky, short fuse momdom, your words are a precious lifeline to other moms, reassuring that a few flustered moments and bellowing do not a bad mother make.

And now let's take a moment to reflect on that convoluted run-on sentence, shall we?

PS Silver lining - At least your period will have come and gone by Myrtle Beach...

Hope your boys are feeling better soon. No fun when all the kids are sick.

mine's been running a low grade fever x 3 days but it hasn't slowed him down one bit.

glad to see I am not the only one who never goes to the bathroom alone.

Good luck with the travel plans

I am sooooo sorry!! I have sooooo been there and in my opinion, sick kids is the TOUGHEST thing about motherhood. We were all sick for EIGHT WEEKS STRAIGHT at the beginning of the year. We contracted some horrible virus on vacation and let me tell you: an 8-week quarantine is no picnic!

What is it with Monday???? Your blog is priceless. Trying to work in a cute way of putting it, with your # of times things, make it like the MasterCard commercial. Couldn't muster the cuteness. Tomorrow is Tuesday and here's to a Terrific Tuesday for you, your boys, and your uterus. Eaaaasy period. Low PMS, you get my point.

I'm impressed! I wouldn't have made it until 4:45 with a day like that!
