Yet Another Mastercard Ad

We (ok, I) interrupt your regularly scheduled blog reading for this very important ad:

New kitchen linoleum: (Yes, I do realize linoleum is white trash tile, but please note that it is simply a temporary fix. We're planning on gutting the entire kitchen and dining room when that damn money tree finally sprouts.)--$700

New master bedroom carpeting: $1,000

Yesterday's installation for both of the above: $900

Hearing a horrendous, glass-shattering CRASH from above as you're down in the basement office reading blogs cleaning while the installers are cleaning up and moving the appliances back into the kitchen: $____??? (Can you put a price on a heart attack?)

Yep, that's how the stove looks now, all broken and non-functional taking up space on my new kitchen floor. Please note that we're going to be painting the walls Somerville Red by Benjamin Moore. And I'm getting black wrought iron knobs to spruce up the cheap, apartment-y cabinets.

Replacement glass for stove: approximately $200

Screw that, how about a brand new stove?: Anywhere from $400 to $2,000 (For a stove? Shit, will it prepare and then cook the meal for me?)

Being #3 on the Top Momma Hall of Fame: $___?? (What's the going rate for shameless narcissism?)

Reading such kind words about yourself on a fellow blogger's friend's blog (because I believe we'd definitely be friends if we lived close to each other; plus her daughter may be a potential bride for one of my boyz someday--the little gal is already on her 2nd Red Sox cap!): $___??? (How do you put a price on someone making your day with such kinship?)

And finally, sharing 8 years of wedded bliss [snort] with the man of my dreams, the one who was and always will be "my type", the one who "completes me", the one who seemingly knows me better than I know myself, the doting, loving and involved father of my 3 precious and remarkable boyz: PRICELESS

Oh yeah, and one more thing--an overnight in Boston this weekend to celebrate 8th anniversary: FREE! Because sometimes it pays to be a bee-yotch.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled blog reading.

If the installers broke it, aren't they paying for it?

You are too funny! Hopefully the weather warms back up for this weekend, because it got damn cold yesterday....considering the nice weekend we just had. Hopefully you get a free stove? Or credit towards one?
FYI There is a Sears appliance outlet in Fall River. It may be a bit of a drive but we got a nice refrigerator when we moved, at a great deal.
Have a great weekend.

First..Happy Anniversary. Have fun on your trip.

Second...Crappy about the oven. They are not liable for that?

It never ends does it? It always happens in 3's at my house. Water heater, dishwasher, then car. That is just in the last couple of weeks. Let me know if your money tree comes up so I can get a start off of it!

Happy Anniversary!! Hard to believe the wedding was 8 years ago...it was classic. Didn't you just love Roy ditching me (leaving your wedding) in the middle of it to go downtown? He's done that to me at other weddings since...Needless to say, I haven't gone to a wedding with him in years. Enjoy your time in the city!! Sorry about the stove..that bites..the kitchen will look great red. My dining room is red and I LOVE it.

Hey, happy anniversary and trip to Boston! I used to live there -- great city.

I'm a Sarah too, BTW. (Saw your web site address.)

Oy. I'd definitely demand that the workmen pay for the glass!

Happy Anniversary! Have a great time in Boston.

And congrats on TopMomma! I like to think I helped since I clicked for you. :)

Sorry to hear about your oven...the installers aren't going to pay for it?

Happy Anniversary...I hope you have a wonderful weekend in Boston celebrating!

That sucks! Shouldn't they pay for a brand-spankin' new top of the line stove????

Happy Anniversary! Hope that will take your mind off it!

Oh no! That is terrible about the oven door!!

Have a fabulously relaxing time in Boston! We did a few nights in Boston last year and although it's not far, it was definitely a nice getaway!

Well, the cash spent and oven broken sucks for sure. But everything else is pretty darn cool, right? Happy Anniversary!
