Is there such thing as a clean juicebox handoff from parent to child? Am I the only one whose child(ren) immediately SQUEEZE the full juicebox upon receipt as it then proceeds to spill all over their clothes and/or down their neck?
It is why I am an absolute juice box dictator: "I'll hold it!" I insist. I'm not obsessed about spills, but goddam, that shit is frustrating! They know what the outcome of their squeeze will be, and yet they do it anyway!
I think you're the only one. No other children would EVER do that.Ha, ha, just kidding.Don't they make some sort of holder that you can put the juice box in so that when they squeeze it, they're just squeezing the hard plastic holder?
you are not alone. My eldest indulged me in "mama's sip" to help prevent overflow. My next is less patient, but I do sometimes manage to sneak one, or open it so close to his mouth that he sprays it in there as I quickly open the wings at the top to create a "juicy box airpane"
I hear you! The trick is holding onto the very top where the juice box is folded over. There is nothing more irritating than the steady strong stream of juice shooting out!
Very irritating, isn't it. I feel you mess...I mean pain.
I actually had to ban juice boxes for about a year because Sweet Boy just couldn't control his impulse to spray me or anyone else nearby (and by "spray" I mean pretend the juice box is a squirt gun and intentionally empty at least half the contents into my face, onto my shirt, etc). Good times.
I too can identify! I have tried to train my 4 years old to take a drink as the 'transfer' takes place. But, that doesn't always go smoothly! My solution...I found juice box holders. (they're only like a buck!) they just slide right in. I think my sister found them at Walmart (about a year ago) but I'm sure they are out there at many places! :) Good luck.
I ALWAYS take the first sip. I really hate that juice.
I had to laugh out loud. EVERY time I say, "DO NOT SQUEEZE!" And EVERY time they squeeze!
First of all, this is why i must buy pouches and yell "Hold the top corners only!" while cruisin' in my new minivan (i'm so not cool)--whatever, like they will EVER get a juice in my new car--LOL! My tip I heard somewhere and it does help a bit---here goes....you are supposed to flip those little side wings up and the air release helps w/ less of a fountain effect---aren't i a smart mom? do i make any sense?---as i am discussing juice boxes at 4 am w/ you...or those little plastic boxes but who has time for those w/ 3 kids, right? (and those do work)
