Marbles?

Eldest had his 5 year checkup today. Our family pediatrician is a little (like 5 foot 2) Chinese doctor who was also my Hubby's pediatrician when he was a little boy. Talk about small town. Anyway, the good doctor has added a partner to his practice. A lovely new woman doctor whom I met last week for the first time when Baby had his double ear infection. Anyway, the doctor started by asking Eldest some questions: how old was he, did he go to school, what did he like about school, yada yada yada. Then she asked him if he could ride a bike. He said yes, but I think she meant without training wheels, which he cannot (or more like WILL NOT EVEN TRY). I didn't interject though. So she asked him a few more random questions and then asked him what his favorite toy is at home. He matter-of-factly answered, "Marbles." I had to bite my tongue to keep from bursting out laughing. We have NO marbles in the house now, nor have we ever had them! Like I would ever have a batch of marbles lying around with a 2yr old and a 1yr old who are completely orally fixated (between the two of them, this is what they had in their mouths today before they were thwarted--Matchbox car tires, stickers, crayons, boogers...and that doesn't count all the fun things Baby finds to put in his mouth when he's outdoors--rocks, sticks, leaves...) So needless to say, Eldest LIED to the nice new doctor! It was so funny though.
